I Am In The Middle Of Building A Blower Motor For My Jet Boat And Am Looking For Some Info On What Lobe Center,duration,lift Cam Would Be Best To Run. A Little Engine Info Its A 455 Olds With Custom Tunnel Ram Blower Manifold And Bored .030 Over The Crank Has Had Dual Key Ways Cut Into It Compression Is 10:1 Forged Pistons Toatal Seal Gapless Rings All The Oil Mods Have Been Done Including Oil Cooler 10q Pan And Dual Remote Filters 2.25 Primary Headers. I Have A 671 That Hampton Is Seting Up Was Planing On Runnig Edelbrock 750cfm Carbs All Mallory Ignition. Any Info On Cam Specs Would Be Great

Can you get flow numbers to see what the heads will move air wise?

Yeah I Can Get The Flow Numbers At Lunch
As Far As Pic I Dont Have The Blower Back Yet But When I Get It I Will Try To Post The Completed Project

The Heads Are E Casting With 2.07 Intake An 1.680 Exhaust Acordin To Monelloes The Work They Did Should Flow 250 Cfm At .550 Intake And 165 Cfm At .550exhaust Any Info Would Help

455 Olds, 10:1 comp., Olds cast iron heads, custom tunnel ram intake, 6-71 Blower, Edelbrock carbs...... hmmmmm :idea:

Just Doing Something A Little Different You Never See A Blower On A Olds So I Thought I Would Give It A Try Everybody Says You Cant Turn A Olds Hard But The One I Built Has Been Turned 6500 For Long Periods With Out Any Issues For 2 Seasons So I Thought What The Hell

WOW. So what you have in this Olds. What pump and impeller you have to spin it to 6500.

10:1 comp
start out easy on the boost since you're 10 to 1 static----make sure you have good bolts in your rods----start out a little on the rich side on the jets-----everyone has their own ideas about blower motor cams----most setups use a lot of duration----go with what cam grinder suggests-----maybe in your set up, more duration, and stay away from high lift, with the olds rocker setup----just go easy with each tuning change you make

Duration split favoring the exhaust is going to be wide with that 66%. Exhaust will probably need to be 16 more at .050" then the exhaust.
