While driving down the road today (in the Nooga of course) I spotted one of the Nooga's finest shooting radar. I looked at my Valentine 1 and nothing. Having never let me down before I circled back around and drove through the radar again.... nothing.... The radar gun was very small and blue. Is this some kind of new undetectable device

Sounds like a Lidar(laser) to me
and he probably was not using it.
When using Lidar you first identify the violator(speeder), then estimate the speed of the vehicle, you then engage the vehicle with your Lidar which last about two seconds.
Hope this helps

From what I have talked to the local deputied that stop in the station it is hard to use detectors with laser. They actually have a scope like a gun and aim at something reflective on the car like the license plate or headlight. It is a direct line of sight. With radar the detectors pick up the radar waves. One of the cops let me use it in front of the station. Was fun for a moment.

here is what you see, the mark on the target,
the speed of the vehicle
and the minus sign means it is going away from you

How old is your Valentine 1???
I updated mine this year with all the new software. I got a ticket by a radar and it never went off. Called Valentine and they said send it in.

Good point  My Valentine is 3 - 4 years old. Guess I'll call them. Fortunately I did not get a ticket. I wasn't speeding. Amazing how much slower you drive when you get rid of your sports car and move to a 4Runner :rollside:

That goes for me too.......the occiffer who wrote me up had a box no bigger than 2" by 4" or 5" wide...... cute number on there....guessing the 96 was my speed in the 45 zone. I'm calling Valentine Monday too....... never heard a peep.

LMAO...Uh ya. Its saved me several times in the past...not that I speed allot or anything...but its nice to have at least a warning.

I would disagree, for the last 3 - 4 years I couldn't count the times my arse has been saved by that thing. For all I know the Occifer may not have had the gun on. I think it's a new type of gun though, since I did drive through the trap twice.

Next time you do a double pass. knock it in neutral, peg the throttle and have the engine bouncing off the rev limiter when you go by. that'll wake em up :D

how about this one?

no one uses the shoulder stock though. too bulky and people think its some type of tactical rifle with it.

Another Question for Kilr or other L.E.'s..
If you are sitting at a red light, left turn lane.
All other lanes are blocked and a Fire truck comes up behind you lights and sirens. (lights in this area do not change for emergency vehicles)
If you run the light (when it is reasonably safe) to allow the emergency vehicle to progress, would you be ticketed?

No. If they need you to move then you have to move.
