Wow. I'm quite disappointed but not that surprised. :(
Without our veterans, millions of them, that have fought and died and continue to fight and die, our lifestyle, performance boating, this website, and any freedom for that matter would not be part of life as we know it today.
Head in sand, out of sight out of mind I guess. Perhaps when the first dirty bomb goes off in LA or Vegas and interrupts someones life directly people will notice threads like this. Sorry peeps shit like this really pisses me off about our "all about me" society in general. Let the flaming begin. :boxed:

At work this past Friday I thanked all the people at my work that I knew to be veterans. They thanked me as well since I am one too. I did notice that no one else showed the same respect to me or the other veterans. It's a simple gesture of appreciatation that has a lot of meaning. Or people just forgot what day it was. It's just a day off for some, right?

My parents met while both serving in the Royal Air Force (RAF) in WWIIÂ….
My father was a Navigator/Wireless Operator on a Lancaster BomberÂ…..
http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/520/1780Lancaster_Bomber-med.jpg
His squadron made numerous runs over Germany only to have most of his friends never return homeÂ….
My parents immigrated to the United States with my sister in 1958Â…..
I arrived a few years laterÂ…..
Thanks Mom & Dad from your proud (American Born) son....
Later,
