Ok, I am now dead set on getting a new strut. I have been resisting doing it but I've known all along that it's what I need to do.
Good by with the 9 degree bolt on strut. Hello new drop through.
I've head to run a 7 to a 7.5 degree. What about splitting the difference and doing a 7.25 degree? Hell it will be what ever angle I mount it anyway right?
But the real point of this post is this.
Should I make it out of s.s. or 4130?
I like the way the 316L s.s. looks and if it's strong enough for my 572" turbo deal I'll use it. If not I'll stick with 4130.
Ok, boatguy222, are you happy now?

Ok, boatguy222, are you happy now?You can't see it anyways so stick with 4130!!. When you buy a drop through, you specify the angle just like a bolt on, the part that's in the boat is straight up, otherwise, it will be a bitch making a mount for it!.. :)

Sd 316 is plenty strong, It will rip the bottom of the boat apart before that breaks.

Sd yeah it looks nice still not done. I promised for this weekend. And I've got a lot of stuff going on. His motor is going to be pretty strong. Jim Lang is doing the assembly.
