..to be honest I have really been considering the idea of buying something like that and keeping it in Channel Islands. With the price of boats these days, you could buy something sweet and have a getaway place for the weekends. It would be different if I had a house at the river, but then I still think I would only go once a month...one thing is for sure, selling your boat and not having one sucks arse but I have the itch to buy something :)

We used to have a SR 370 Dancer. Gotta admit it.... I really miss that boat. We used to stay out all weekend, take long trips on it. Had all the comforts of home. Didn't have to worry about getting you speed fix or water sports fix cause everybody wanted to meet and tie up with us. You could get one of these and have a cruier with speed too (50 to 60 mph depending on power)

That would be me.......I don't think you're getting old.......If I had my druthers, I'd have a hot rod and a cruiser.........I still like going fast but a cruiser is going to fit the family better and I still get to be on the water...
We gotta talk about that bayliner thing though :D :D

one of our hot boat buddies (i wont mention any names, DONNIE) always says" damn, when we get done with this ***boat chiat, i am gonna get me one of those floatin' condos".
he's right, but not just yet. as long as we can crawl out of the bed in the bow, we'll wait until we actually NEED handrails.
they are nice, though you didn't have to say the "B" word, now did ya?

I beat you to it, we got a 36 foot carver that we hang out on all summer. It stays at the river and we bring the hot rod boat down and tie up to the carver. All the amenities of home, plus you can go for a blast in the speed boat when you want. Ahhhh, life is good.....cheers :)

This is a 63' Italian express boat. It will run 60 on the big end!

We have been talking about a 38/40' (cruiser)something or other for a while now... But going to the boat show last week seeing the 18X80 houseboat.....fully loaded..... $250k....shoot, I am going to lean towards that. Sounds like a much better deal for the money....vs....1 mil plus for a cruiser half its size.

I never thought I'd say it but I'd love to have one of those things. 2,500 + sq feet of floating lake property. Really good for landlocked lakes. For some reason they haven't caught on in the Nooga. Maybe cause we live on a navigable waterway. Or maybe because we've never had a good dealer in town.

Damn you guys are thinkin BIG I'm thinkin 29' to 32' Bayliner 30 something Sea ray or an older 36' or 38' carver aft cabin. but I dont have the "bawller dollar" like most of you guys so Ill be on a smaller scale!! and I'll be keepin the other boat (Drone 30') as a dingy!

Nancy & I did this a few years ago. After many years of performance boats (Campbell, Spectra's, Raysons, Hallett's, Schiada's and others), we settled down with a beautiful Sea Ray Sundancer. Well, after 1 years of going slow, but comfortable, we went back to performance. My biggest regret is not keeping both. I miss not going out for the evening cruise, the overnighters on the boat with A/C, microwave, shower and coffeemaker. Theres a lot to be said for the condo on the water.
By the way, we looked at an option new to the west coast; fractional ownership (a Sunseeker yet). Interesting...

No, my 'dancer had V-drives with the props & shafts up in pockets. I had the optional 380 hp Horizons and at the rev limiters (5050) it was good for 40 mph.

HUGE difference. My 370 has Vdrives as well and blistered the lake at 20 knots :D Cruisers with outdrives can trim out and run on top of the water like a ***boat. Harder to back into a slip though :D

River O, exactly right. It I had kept my boat, it would have had 360K-planes installed on its first haul-out. The little tiny bennets that came with it would not drop the nose properly unless you dropped them way down which in turn dropped the speed significantly. Surely you jest about the top speed of your 37, they aren't that slow are they?

Mine was a 1991 370 which had a center line of 39.11 and a 13 or 13.5 beam. It had twin 330 horse 454 carb motors. I had to run with the tabs way down to keep is from falling back in the hole. My cruies was 17 to 20 knots. Not sure about the top end but it sure as hell wasn't 40mph. Sluggish hull but a dam nice boat. Lots of great memories. I really miss it.
