I think you mean composite gear. Comp cams makes them.

They kick ass....many times outlast a bronze gear and if it does fail it won't take out the rest of your motor.....

MSDs take the .500 diameter gear. Vertex, supermag's and stock dist types use the .491 gear.

Note the oversizes shown for the .500 shaft ones. This is to take up lash. Really a good deal and keeps timing more accurate. Too bad they are for .500 sizes only and nothing available for the .491.
MSD was trying to make some type of tool for measuring what size oversize gear would be required but they never came up with the tool. I am told by MSD that a .006 is the most common sold.

I have the plastic from summit and it has worked with no visible sign of wear for over 40 hours. the bronze..well, you know metal to metal!

crane now makes a STEEL gear that is compatable with billet cams for those that are running a little more oil pressure than that composite gear likes. its STEEL gear not a CAST IRON gear. the composite gear was origanally designed for dry sumps and won't take a lot of pump pressure, so be carefull when the motor is cold and with heavy oil guys because you can strip it.
