Nothing I want to try and open the bowl up some more. To see if I can get more water through it..

More water ?? ? Its my understanding that these pumps flow a ton of water but at very low pressure. Have you looked inside it ? ? ? I got mine aparts and i can almost stick my hand thru the viens. How does the pump work for you now ? ? ? Do you have any speed #'s or rpm at cruising and top ? ? ? How about planing does it happen fast or take forever ???
I am about 90% set on switching to the berk i have in the other boat, I asked 4 very knowledgeable people "to switch or not switch" and 3 says switch for sure, one says "you will be alright" I wanna be better than alright, im not looking for performance, i already have a v-drive, i just want the most effecient setup for the money and if that means 10 or so hours switching intakes and pumps i can do it since i already have all the parts.
where can i find more pics of your boat ? ?

in a 23 foot boat I doubt switching would be worth it. The WJ is a good pump. Do some ressearch on it.
To get it to flow more water you need to cut the nozzle off the bowl for starters...

Let me work on it. Got lots of pics on my other computer...
I haven't had anything done to the impeller yet. IVe got a race prepped MPD b impeller in aluminum that I am gonna run first. When Im ready to nail it Ill switch impellers and sell the B.

I dont think I would worry about the power with the 8-71. Jack is well aware of the power my motor will be making and my 100 mph plans. He told me the pump can do it.
Would I be buying a Jacuzzi pump if my boat came with a berk? No way. But I like the idea of making the underdog parts work and from the couple of people I've talked to about Jacks mods on the WJ(stage 3) they saw over 10mph increase. One was doing just over 80 with under 600 hp.Depending on my speeds when the boat has been set up I might switch to the energizer kit to see if anything else is available. But I think with 800 hp and the underdog pump-if I can get to 100 then that is saying something positive for the WJ.

I didn't know how to do it either. There are enough people on here that have done it that can walk you through the process if you decided you want to go that route. Take your time & have help and it goes fine. It took me a couple of days of planning to finally pull the trigger. Pretty sure the final bill was $2600. The cool part is that it allows the use of a berk place diverter/droop bolt pattern.

i duno.....if i was to pull the intake i would do the set back and put a berk in it....but like you said...make the under dog run...i like that too....i have surprised some people with the mopar and jacuzzi.....it funny..most people think the 440 is a small block chevy.....i got a heavy boat so idont know if the work will be worth it

If you already had a berk pump that would work okay. Otherwise you need to shop for one. Ive seen them in decent shape for 300-400. Then you still have to close up that hole, cut a new one...Lots of work in fiberglass/labor...
I did the setback-it was easy. Wait till the spring to do anything and Ill be able to tell you how the WJ performs with lots of hp. My boat would easily do high 90s with the power I have and a berk, so if it can do it with a WJ, then that should quiet the naysayers...
