It could have been done in my 26 but I think it might have been just a little too much for her to handle.

???? in a 26' boat.....
I wouldn't hesitate to put the 625 in my 22'. I wouldn't have any worries about the boat being able to "handle it"

The right 18' boat could handle it. There is a 1975 18' Donzi with right around 1000 hp and an arneson that runs on rails. Runs 120+.
Here it is. http://www.arneson-industries.com/18'_donzi.htm
Although George Desmond is listed as the owner, he has sold the boat this past summer. The boat is a piece of art.

OK now, would you think a bravo 1 would hold up? Or maybe I should re-phrase... What drive would you recommend?

I'd put it in a 10' Schiada if I had the means, and some creativity to make a seat to sit on top of the motor and look good. :)

Not to be a smart ass but I thought Ilmor only made the 550hp, 625hp and 7-10(700hp). Merc does the 525. :yuk:

I am sure my boat could handle it, however that is not the type of performance am I really lookin for... the HO gives me 74-76mph and I do not need anything more from a 26.

I do have my eyes on a new 32 with twin 525's... does that count for more?

...I think it was actually the new 22 canopied Daytona.
I have 600+ hp in my 25 V-bottom(Eliminator)...and it a blast :rollside:
Throttle,
You have to be the first person on these boards...
To actually admit that a 496HO and mid 70's is plenty fast.

Ya, my HO gets me all of 52. And yes that is GPS. I think it is a bit on the slow side.

its comfortable, sure I would like to go faster sometimes but lets face it... I am runnin just as good as anyone else out here in this class and size, probably better than several. I am stoked on the performance of my boat.

...There is a lot to be said for stock,I'll give ya that,my last boat had a 502efi,and I ran the snot out of it
I gotta tell you though..there is nothing like finding a nice stretch of water getting it up on the pad, hear the blower start to whine...and just let her dance...that is as good as it gets.

oh yeah.... a good stretch of water and lots of "throttle", I'm good with it... 193+ hours on her in just less than two years...
