Im thinking more about changing over to the berk pump in my boat as mentioned in the other post, i was wondering what the difference in the intakes are for berkely, are they basically all the same or have different angles, mounting or what is any differences.
I have a boat with an intake in it that i could possibly use, then i could always go and get the one that i bought the pump outta, its a junk boat. But i never looked to see if these to intakes were the same, i know the mounting holes are the same.

There are two common Berkeley intakes. One is for "rounded keel" hulls and the other is for flat or "Delta pad" hulls. The rounded keel unit is identified with "H2155" cast into it and the flat is "H2481".

Hey now, I said "common", seller says that one is "very rare". :) From the pics it appears to be a couple inches longer, as well.

Just talke to the guy with the intake and im the high bidder, he was a great guy and very informative in all jet boat areas, he says he has 20+ years worth of parts and is in michigan. Hope to win this auction over the weekend and he can get it coming so i can put it in next weekend !!!!

Weird thing just happened, i just looked at another 2155 that is completely rounded and just what i need, so once i layed it beside my 2155 i figured out some one milled it down to be the delta pad type !!! I guess you can turn a 2155 into a 2481 if you have the time and equipment or $$$$. So you were right there are two "common" ones and one of which is what my boat takes !!!

Duece, that one on e-bay is a freak, I'd stay away from that thing and get a normal intake.
If the normal rounded keel intake doesnt match up perfectly to the shape of the bottom thats ok, you can work around that. Just make sure when you set the intake no part of the intake is below the fiberglass. You may have to raise the front of the intake a little so nothing hangs down but thats ok, the intake does not have to be at 4 degrees exactly.. Once the intake is set the entry can be shaped with epoxy, its no big deal and its done all the time.
That thing on e-bay may work but I would personally stay away from it.

Does that loader mounting pad appear to be further back on this intake compard to the standard intakes?
Its obvioulsy got a longer entry area but its hard to tell if the mounting pad is in a differnt spot.

I agree, it is a freak. No jacking-bolt holes either.
I think these were made "BITD" for boats with alot of deadrise.

I think it just looks that way because that one is longer but the mounting pad appears to be in the same place. The h2155 seems to be the most popular out their right now. If it were me i would steer away from "rare" intakes, it will only give you a headache.
