I have had all the rough rigging done and removed for finish, I am having some custom windowing done to rails and motor plates, then it goes to polish and chrome, engine should be here next week. You know how it goes SLOW I have been working on it now about 2 to 3 hours a night and still feel like I have a long ways to go.
Good news is we have all parts to finish,

I don`t know if I was lied to but I was told that big chief deal wouldn`t do me any good unless I was spinning higher rpm`s. I am sure there is a few people on the boards that has an opinion and I would love to hear them.
Maybe you could get me in touch with red rocket or let him know I would like to order a set. Your help is greatly appreciated

What was your motor doing in Louisiana?
How are you?
GS has a friend named Mark who lives in Bossier City, I do believe know we are friends. even though I did drop wake board hitch on his finger, boy it looked like it sure hurts. I bet he is still talking about the river.
long story short, Mark runs hydros, had an extra hydro motor and wanted to sell it, Mark called GS marine and I bought it. Mark is trying to get us out to smokin in the cove. said something about building a hydro to run in the cove.

No Way I would loose my a$$, You can`t charge enough for your time, You know:) plus I am a better carpenter.
I made these mounts by hand, then took them to a water jetter, a friend of mine works for a big desert car outfit and he hooked me up with his water jetter. I have patterns made and saved to computer but they will only work in a boat like mine with stringers set at 26inches apart. Call GS marine If you want a set. I know he can get them for a price what it is I don`t know
Hey Baddboyz everything is for sale, Call GS Marine and ask for Greg he can help you with my 19cp. if I sale the boat it will have to go complete.sorry I can`t help but I am going out of country for a while be back in May. If you want a new one So Cal is your guy

DA question of the day. How are you going to vent the gas tank?
If you look close at the top of the tank there are three plugs, the middle plug will have a vent tube put on it, it is a good question, I had to give my CP a total of a 1/2in of vent per tank. learned that the hard way.
Boat goes to a certain shop this week in long beach where we will plumb it right there on the spot. I will take pics of plumbing when we are done

after a long weekend of locking my self in a friends shop and walking a marathon from one end to the other, I have finished mounting all of the electronic componets and a few other loose ends. I can`t tell you how many times I have driven to mcfadden dale hardware for one bolt or one nut that you never realized you needed. I hope it will be a dual purpose boat, I plan on running it on the river and attending a few races at njba. I only have one problem I love my CP on the river but I have been told after I get in the tunnel I will never get out. If that be the case I will sell the CP and use the tunnel on the river.
Pattymelt I have a good friend that sets up Nos systems for A lot of drag car applications, I have let him design the system and in doing so he felt that the direction we are headed in that we need a large volume pump, just for the nos. So one pump is for nos and one for the motor.

I would never in a million years run a blue for an NOS system, just because of my own experience.
I have had a spare on the shelf I kept in circulation when I was playing with cars all the time. Had to use the spare more than once.
When I rigged the jetboat, I ran a redeundant pump just for that reason. I couldn't call a buddy or the trailer out on Mead. The main pump was just starting to go south on me when I decommissioned the boat. I imagine I'll rig the flat the same way.

blues are the most unreliable pump, I agree. Was trying to explain that a low volume pump can handle the fuel demand for a decent shot of nitrous. I run an aeromotive that is the size of a holley blue for my carb and one for nitrous with no problems, I watch nitrous and carb fuel psi on data and its solid.
Sorry about the hijack Mike.

I was wondering the same thing like oil pres and oil temp posibly EGT or is that not that important with nos. I know on the dyno you look at all that but was wondering about in the boat. What about cylender head temp? How many things will a data system moniter at one time?

Ive got a vacuum sensor in the keel which is on the entry going into the intake which tells me if water is making the turn into the pump, engine vacuum, nos fuel pressure, carburator fuel press, inlet press, bowl press, speed, voltage and a wide open throttle indicator. I cant monitor all of this at the same time but I can check any of that stuff when i need to. I move sensors around and check whatever Im interested in at the time.
Danny, you can check any pressures you want oil, fuel, nitrous, boost and EGT if you want.. With the advanced system you can monitor 16 things if i remember correctly.Willis has an EGT set up, maybe he can fill you in a little more. BTW, EGT would be an awesome thing to have on a nitrous motor, the pro mod nos guys tune by EGT's on their data logger.

Thats cool i didnt know that they had that many different options to check. EGT would be pretty awsome to check it would really help nail a tuneup. It would almost be like a dyno with all the imfo you can get.

Hello people,
When I first started to use the egts as a tuning items, must have burned down several engines because I didn’t know if the sensors were calibrated correctly.
I recall, one burn down was around 1200 degrees and that was a surprise to us. The sensor we were using was not reading correctly. :jawdrop:
Gave it to Jim Brock and he tested it at the track. Brock said it was a 100 degrees off from his sensor and both were made by the same company.
We have found that the Southland Sensors brand is very reliable and the probes are thicker than those that come with the advanced box.
909-590-5054 – call them with the measurements from the header to the thermocouples and they will custom cut your leads.
Very happy with the Southland Sensors brand.
Be sure to use all the knowledge you have stored, don’t relay on the sensors only!!
All header people will tell you that it’s a combination of things as to how the probes where installed, where they are in relationship to the bends in the tubes. (they can't tell you what's a good temp to start at, or where burn down will happen)
We have had good success when the temps are 1450 - 1550 range.

It hasn't been easy getting the boat to run better without the blower.
so far i've changed the bottom, reworked the jet pump and switched from an iron blower motor to an aluminum naturally aspirated motor.
the basics of the motor are: 572cid, 12-degree pro filer heads, pro filer hitman single plane intake, quick fuel 1250 cfm carb. the motor is mild enough to run all over the river on pump gas but runs hard enough to be a quick and fun ride. if you want more info on the motor, please call Dave Ebbert at DNE Motorsports in Costa Mesa, CA.
he can give you better info that i can.

Well Lets get the record straight first, Why does your motor miss when you leave? Might it be launch control, and diverter is now hydraulic with a stop. What happened to the manual diverter? SB and MD (or is it MD and SB) you're both my bros., but I can't sit on the fence. Since I can't root for a CP period, I'm rootin' for the tunnel!!!!!
My prediction is that the winner will be Colonel Klink because you both bought hulls from him before I bought my molds
BTW, the tunnel looks great in the H2O. You did a bitchen job on the whole package.
Okay, now that the tunnel is done (tweaking notwithstanding), get your asses over to my place and help me install this stuff.

Parts will be back from anodizer on Friday and picking up hull from interior shop on Sat morning.

it seems that a lot of people have figured out the weak link in the cp, it can not leave from a dead stop, but from a small roll it is deadly
I couldnt disagree more. An 18 CP is DEADLY from a dead stop and is superior to anything else out there in that aspect, a 19 has alot of potential as well. Ive driven 3 different 18s with lightweight high HP engines and all 3 of them left so damn hard it made my head spin, they are untouchable for the first few hundred feet.
example:
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/94faec27-8ac4-4112-8461-9953001e946f.htm
Mike, there is alot left in that 19, a trip to Bako to see what everyone is doing might be something to consider.

I think some of you guys are miss reading my posts, the week link in my 19 is the leaving from a dead stop, I agree with the 18 leaving hard I believe they are the ultimate 1/8 mile boat.
Back to my boat I have never really worked on part of my program, boat does have launch control just not programed yet, in using launch it will eliminate pump slip. My boat is very heavy and with blower and inter cooler it is a tank. Like I said a page back I have put together a few things that should improve upon this problem but I will never get rid of the weight. We will surely see come saturday

I think what Mike was trying to say is that HIS CP doesn't leave as hard as he'd like or as hard as some of other CP's.
Mike has unbelievable top speed but has never needed to launch great, because he can usually catch you. . (weight could be an issue).
My boat on the other hand was designed to run QUICK, focusing on the launch and of course having enough mph to stay out in front.
I have to agree with Sofa and CS19 that if set up correctly, there's not much out there that will leave harder.
When Mike and I raced from a dead stop, I had 2 boats almost instanly and he had to play catch-up. When we raced from a 20mph roll, he pulled away from 1/2 track on and beat me by more than 1 boat. (yes 1 boat):D
Just my .02
