When it's not boating related attire it doesn't belong here (boating site here). And the see through and wicked weasel type stuff is a no go here too. Pics linked to sites that have other soft core or worse content degrade this sites no porn rating just by the link being present to the site regardless of the pic content, not to mention the pics in many cases don't belong here as they are not boating related. So as soon as someone posts a bedroom, lesbo, or lingere type photo the thread goes away (well not always as soon as but soon as we see it). We've banned members in the past for repeated occurances and will continue to as necessary.
While Hammer is a man of fewer words than myself, his message is right on target. This website exists today because the moderators came in and cleaned it up about 3 years ago, at Larry's not so indirect request btw to ***boat. We had a choice to clean it up or shut it down due to complaints coming into LFP. We really don't want that to happen now do we? LFP does not want complaints about ***boat's website content, period. It matters not what else Larry owns. ***boat isn't part of that business and is not even directly run by LFP staff. Therefore the content is tightly controlled in the female exposure area. It is also in the contract with ***boat's ISP that none of the above described content be present on the site. ***boat.com for quite some time was restricted to all US military access as well due to the above. ***boat does not want that status to re-occur. Continually posting content contrary to the above guidelines or arguing with the mods on the subject will only get you gone. It is not a negotiable topic.

As far as using this site to promote my store, if you'll notice at the top of the forums I run paid banner ads to the tune of several thousand bucks a year to support the site in addition to supporting ***boat magazine with ads. As far as the sig links they are allowed for everyone and if you'll take a harder look I'll bet you'll find a shitload of folks here using them for self promotion who do nothing to give back to this site in terms of advertising dollars or their time.
If you're directing that at my posting content you'll find I rarely mention anything to do with Rex related product on this forum, unlike some other suppliers that come here and spam their stuff in the vast majority of their posting. True the Sand Bar (is) a "open Topic social Lounge" in (almost) every aspect and every topic is NOT Boating related (like the Rhino craze...lol) however, still it's not the place where soft porn and the like can or will be allowed. Is there something about this you can't comprehend?

content rating... I unfortunately have to agree with the mods..
Content raters use subjective guidelines to rate websites and once a site is rated one way, it can be hard to get it rated differently. Sometimes it is easy.
But when the list of the ratings are updated millions of subscribers now have that in their content filters. Big Businesses as well home users receive this.
At this point a website may become blocked. Now if the advertisers spend money for a Boat relatred website find that their ads are blocked because the site was re-rated... Well they may be upset now the potential customer base they signed up for has been cut down signifigantly.

You got a "legitimate" problem bring it on over. MSD has a very straight forward warranty program and are normally pretty liberal if a product is not obviously abused or beyond the warranty. Even if beyond warranty they repair stuff for reasonable $ generally. Of course if you call them up and tell them to fock off like you just told me to I'm sure you might not get the full benefit of that normal policy and consideration.

Don't come on ***boat and threaten me with false bullshit and call me names. A few have tried it before. I take care of legitimate problems. However I don't put up with bullshit from anyone.

Just fyi if any MSD distributor (Teague, myself or anyone else) were to take back an MSD module out of warranty and they refuse warranty for whatever reason the distributor eats it, not MSD. I don't make em so we don't do it being we're lucky to make $50 on em to start with. That's MSD's warranty policy, not mine. MSD flat tells us, don't do it so we don't do it. We do however routinely contact them on special circumstances and many times they give full cooperation.
Or you can just continue to call me a "homo" and tell me to "Fock off asshole" complain about the chix thread on a free website you don't own and generally carry on like a child.

BTW - I only dealt with Teague a couple times and I will never go back. Don't get me started, but most of the guys working there don't know how to ask "you want fries with that."
I have been to Rex's countless times and Mikey is about the fairest guy I have ever met. He also treats everyone with the same respect and red carpet customer service, regardless of how much you spend - and is genuine. I made fun of a customer that bragged to Mikey about his "fast" jet boat with a 455 olds, and Mikey made me feel like a heel. Mikey listen to this guys stories, and there were many, and made the guy feel like a million bucks, while it was obvious the guy barely had 2 nickles to rub together and spent maybe $20 after wasting 30 minutes of Mikey's time. I forget what Mikey said, but it was something about everyone is human and the last thing he wants to do is stifle someone's love of boating. Also, when it comes to pricing of Teague vs. Rex, Teague is not exactly a "discounter."
I know Mike is scratching his head because I have never introduced myself as "holymoly" when I have gone to his shop - and he probably can't remember any 3 legged hairy angry midgets coming in. :D

The good and bad thing about MSD igniton boxes is they either work, or they don't.
Luckily, I have had never had serious problems with mine. But one of my boxes is from a friend who didn't think MSD would fix it. I sent his in and got it repaired for a reasonable price I thought. I am still running it 5 years later.
I have MSD's in every one of my hotrodded toys, both boats have the full monty, practically everything they make. Fires up everytime with no problems.
Most problems are caused by installation errors, especially with boats, as the proper grounding areas are limited.

I made fun of a customer that bragged to Mikey about his "fast" jet boat with a 455 olds, and Mikey made me feel like a heel. Mikey listen to this guys stories, and there were many, and made the guy feel like a million bucks, while it was obvious the guy barely had 2 nickles to rub together and spent maybe $20 after wasting 30 minutes of Mikey's time.

Sorry, I'm still in a little bit of a haze this morning from the date rape drug that they put in turkey. I was just glancing over this thread and reading buzzwords, went back and read it a little more in depth and then answered my own question and therefore edited my post accordingly. ;) :D

MSD's do fail although as stated earlier and confirmed by MSD factory, over 90% of box warranties are due to incorrect ground and hot connections by the user. The factory is very liberal imo on what they warranty due to customer install errors.
But I've had one fail, so I know it does happen. But so do cams, rods, cranks, alternators, starters, pretty much you name it.

I had a friend, or at least I thought I did... had a high dollar Triton bass boat a few years old. His deck started getting cracks in the clear over the metalflake. By the time it was all said and done, this deck had horizontal cracks spaced every 5 or 6 inches entirely around the boat. He asked if I could fix it and I told him it would be better going back to the factory because they might just give him a new deck or hull, because it would be over 10K for me to repair it, and couldn't guarantee that the cracks wouldn't come back... because we would be repairing it cosmetically and not structurally... so, check with the factory. Well, he turns around, runs up to Dallas, gets an estimate for 12K to fix his boat. He gets the check, cashes it, and never has the boat touched, and then goes telling all his bass boat buddies we do shitty work... :yuk: I get wind of it and have to tell people we never touched his boat, and it totally blows my mind, this coming from him out of the blue like that. :mad: Most people around here know my reputation, so he was shot down real damn quick by his friends that know me... Anyhow, I make a few phone calls to get hold of him, leave messages etc, and to this day, a year later, I have yet to speak to him or see him... I suppose he knows he has an ass whippin' comin'... :boxingguy

I don't know the particulars of your whole situation but any of these retailers are really only the "pickle-in-the-middle". Rexy can only respond as the manufacturer tells him OR it comes out of his pocket. By the way, ever wonder why not all suppliers carry MSD products? Truth of the matter is there's not a lot of profit in the products.
A personal note about Rexy's "abuse" of a customer. A person I'm aquainted with was ragging on Rex Marine in my presence awhile back and not to make this too long, I offered to get a hold of Mike and see what's up. Long story short, Mike refunded the large sum of $ to this unhappy customer. What I learned after the fact was that this person basically destroyed the items, and then had his girlfriend take them back with no receipt or whatever. Then he proceeded to rant and rave about not getting his refund the next day.
Gotta tell you, I felt like a rat for opening my mouth and don't stick up for much of anyone anymore.
Personally, I know it is your hard earned dollars involved here but you are way off base on your asassination of Rexy.

Wow!!!! I keep coming back to this thread to see if Rexone has posted any more samples of what is acceptable as "An Incredible Hot Chick" but all I have found is some asshole knocking a great supplier to our terrible addiction.
I have had a 15 minute old MSD box fail. Buddy loaned me his spare and I ran it for 2 seasons before I got around to boxing the bad one up along with one I got in a trade that I knew nothing about. Called MSD, not the dealer I got it from, and they gave me shipping instructions. They apparently replaced the fuse in the "brand new" one (probably caused by improper grounding on my part) and upgraded the poor old faded one I had traded for. My cost was shipping to El Paso.

Ok, lets start over again, take this from the top. I bought a vector back in 2003, used it one season, stripped it, rebuilt it. Most if not all of the original parts were dumped, in order to replace them. Rex sold me those parts. They were mostly running gear, and some initial stuff for the new motor. At the time, MSD was recomended to me by the rexmar staff, and I went ahead and bought the stuff, no reason not too. at the time, I had a good working relationship over there with them, I told them what I needed, the UPS guy skidded to a stop in front of the house the next day. ( He liked to do that, he knew I was almost always asleep and that it would wake me up) :mad:...that said, when the time came to get certain other things, Rex did not have a line on them, and enter Teague as a source. I think the first thing was brackets for the pulleys. No idea if Mike has them today or not. After that, I used them both, along with Dana, but ended up using Teague more becuase the guy said yes I have that, great selling point. Mind you, I rebuilt ALL of the ass end of this boat, not just the motor, and shit was all over the house waiting to get put in. I'll admit, Mike did a good job for me, over time. But those of us who don't have a wad to throw at things do it piecemeil, one here, two there, that sort of thing. Took me a LONG time to get it done, spending money when I had it. No one at Rex told me about a warranty, and in fairness, I never asked. My experience with bad parts was the Teague approach, "I'll have ya a new one in the mornin" send yours back ASAP....now maybe thats unique, as most guys know what I do for a living, and know I can't always run to a UPS store, but will as soon as I can. So I take the new job up here, finish the boat down there, drag it up here after testing it down there, and the first time we take it out up here the MSD dumps itself....go figure. Now I start to wonder about what to do to fix it, I call Teague and the guy says, you didn't buy it from us, too bad, i'd be sending you a replacement righ now...I go to my records and find the reciept from Rex and call them. And you guys know the rest. Why am I the bad guy here? Exactly what did I do wrong? I spent a SHITLOAD of my hard earned money with the guy and this is what I get. I had no idea who he was until this thread as I figured long ago I was focked on getting it replaced. Was I pissed? You bet! Who amongst you would not be? I did the only thing I could do at the time, I took it to a local guy and bought a new one. And I'm the retard here. Go figure. The only retard is the guy who all of a sudden realizes that this came back to bite him in the azz on a public forum and makes a lame attempt to fix it. Ok, lets start over again, take this from the top. I bought a vector back in 2003, used it one season, stripped it, rebuilt it. Most if not all of the original parts were dumped, in order to replace them. Rex sold me those parts. They were mostly running gear, and some initial stuff for the new motor. At the time, MSD was recomended to me by the rexmar staff, and I went ahead and bought the stuff, no reason not too. at the time, I had a good working relationship over there with them, I told them what I needed, the UPS guy skidded to a stop in front of the house the next day. ( He liked to do that, he knew I was almost always asleep and that it would wake me up) :mad:...that said, when the time came to get certain other things, Rex did not have a line on them, and enter Teague as a source. I think the first thing was brackets for the pulleys. No idea if Mike has them today or not. After that, I used them both, along with Dana, but ended up using Teague more becuase the guy said yes I have that, great selling point. Mind you, I rebuilt ALL of the ass end of this boat, not just the motor, and shit was all over the house waiting to get put in. I'll admit, Mike did a good job for me, over time. But those of us who don't have a wad to throw at things do it piecemeil, one here, two there, that sort of thing. Took me a LONG time to get it done, spending money when I had it. No one at Rex told me about a warranty, and in fairness, I never asked. My experience with bad parts was the Teague approach, "I'll have ya a new one in the mornin" send yours back ASAP....now maybe thats unique, as most guys know what I do for a living, and know I can't always run to a UPS store, but will as soon as I can. So I take the new job up here, finish the boat down there, drag it up here after testing it down there, and the first time we take it out up here the MSD dumps itself....go figure. Now I start to wonder about what to do to fix it, I call Teague and the guy says, you didn't buy it from us, too bad, i'd be sending you a replacement righ now...I go to my records and find the reciept from Rex and call them. And you guys know the rest. Why am I the bad guy here? Exactly what did I do wrong? I spent a SHITLOAD of my hard earned money with the guy and this is what I get. I had no idea who he was until this thread as I figured long ago I was focked on getting it replaced. Was I pissed? You bet! Who amongst you would not be? I did the only thing I could do at the time, I took it to a local guy and bought a new one. And I'm the retard here. Go figure. Each moderator has the latitude to handle situations as they see fit for the best interest of the forum in general or the individual forums they moderate, of which those individual parameters may vary depending on the forum. Most of the time on major issues, discussion between moderators on the best appropriate response for the best interest of the website occurs prior to action.

Wow!! Great conversation guys. Men need to discuss this stuff. CPAP can be and IS life changing. A little goofy to get used to initially, but after that, you SLEEP. Sleep is a tool, a comodity, rarely a luxury.
Sleep apnea disrupts your ability to sleep, heres what happens. As you fall asleep, your muscles in your throat are still controlled by you consciously. Once you are in a deeper sleep, those muscles start to relax. If you are an overweight guy, or just a big guy, your throat kind of collapses. When that happenes, it's kind of like suffucating over and over. you stop breathing, and your lungs work harder and harder to get at the air outside until in one MASSIVE breath, you breath. While this is happening, your heart is being STARVED for oxygen, over and over and over, hundreds of times a night. Obviously, this is mortally dangerous for people, in many ways. One is that you wake up feeling like you never went to sleep at all. You go through your day like a zombie, falling asleep while driving, working, taking a shit on the toilet, whatever. The reality of the situation is this. If you SNORE, if you are tired no matter how much you sleep, if you wake up multiple time at night because you feel suffocated, you need to get in to your doc and get checked out. This is not something to be trifled with, not something you can get rid of easily. It can be gotten rid of, all you need is a treadmill and a gym. Most guys who have this are big guys. Nuff said about that.

And one last thing. It has been shown that people fall asleep better under certain conditions, i.e. temp, light, noise, etc. All people have those traits. One of the more interesting side effects of the machine is the noise it makes. a soft blowing sound. Better known as white noise. After a while, when your brain hears this, it is a subliminal signal to your system that is is time to sleep, helping you to go under. nice. Don't get caught up in those products that say they can help stop snoring, SA is NOT helped by that. I never considered that. I can honestly tell you that as a Locomotive Engineer for Union Pacific for 17 years, and now for Amtrak, my sleep is paramount. CPAP lets me get sleep on a level I never had, even as a kid. I recommend it to anyone who wakes up gasping at night, or who does not feel rested. Having the sleep study done is one night of your life that could save your life. I had to replace the box, and have the guy do it cause I don't know how...if it had just been the labor, thats fine, but I had to pop for another box, double what I thought. Your complaint is no doubt justified, BUT->
a. you are attacking the WRONG person. Direct your complaints to MSD.
b. you are bringing an issue to an open forum when it should have been handled via pm or on the telephone.
c. by use of an open forum for this sort of issue I can only surmize that your agenda was to embarrass Rexie and gain support for your cause.
d. your calling names is not even worth a comment.
e. if you had not started this by bringing up YOUR PURCHASES=$ amount, then none of your personal info would have been brought up. Mike's integrity is beyond reproach.
f. did you expect to take Rexie to task and NOT have him defend himself?

Actually I'm not Brett. Our directive when appointed as moderators was to continue posting as we normally would. Just with the addn of forum rule enforcement. There is no strings attached to the manner in which I choose to post.
