Well I figured out the problem with the pink boat. After revving the snot out of it and only doing about 90 Guru asked me if the gears were in backwards ( smaller gear on top) I adamantly denied this because " I had watched it being assembled" and "had counted the teeth". Well, while driving back home on the 5 I was relating all this information to Eraser and he informed me that my memory was faulty and that I was confusing my V-drive with his. He had only shown me his new gears and I had not watched it being reassembled. Anyway after work today I came home, removed the plugs ( very pleased that the tune on the motor was just about perfect), put it in gear and rotated the engine one turn while marking the shaft keyway position. You guessed it,the prop was being underdriven not overdriven. Well the fix is easy enough, I'll have it back together to test at Casitas Friday morning. And you should see the pink Daytona with a bit more top end speed on Sunday at Irvine :D Good call Tony

Hey Mike, Other than the v-drive issue I had a great time. I got to take Stephanie out to eat on her birthday Sunday before I went home. Sorry you couldn't make it, you missed her Camaro, she drove it up on Saturday afternoon and hung out for an hour or so.

a) Setting someones boat up for them and sorting it out
b) loaning them your (more powerful) engine while your boat is in the paint shop
c) enduring the "Are you gay?" questions while testing their pink boat too near the Bay Area
d) giving them a tall deck BBC block for Christmas
I ask you... Where is the love? :D

Guru-eraser will have the boat there and be running it, I will not likely be there as I have committed to spending some time with my wife at a marriage weekend. The seminar is in Irvine however, but if I do make it, I probably wouldn't be able to be there until mid afternoon.

Sangerboy, I used to live in Ventura. Casitas is a great spot to run. Do they ever bitch at you for noise? Judging by your less than optimal speed in the 90's I'd imagine your boat is just as loud (probably louder) as mine. Sorry I'm just a lowly jetter but that board is kinda slow right now.

Yeah a lot of us do some testing up there( Ian, Dragboat Dad, E-ticket, Moneypitt, Fired up, Eraser, myself and several others) JBG used to test up there when he was living in the area. They are real cool there so I try to stay cool by giving the fisherman a wide berth and making my hot passes behind the island or along the dam. On Saturday or Sunday you can get talked to about noise but during the week they seem to let it go. I'm running dry stacks, no mufflers at about 8000 rpm. I've also heard reports that they've let blown alcohol rigs with unmuffled zoomies run at midweek :D
