I'm losing my mind. I just picked up this boat yesterday, also from Craigslist. 81 Sunkisst tunnel. Setback pump, shoe, rideplate, droop, manual Place diverter. Ready for my power, and seats. She needs a few other little bits and pieces, but I have a garage full of stuff, so that is not a problem.

I am still working on this. I started making an extended transom housing, as I couldn't get one that would fit properly. I should be ready to set the engine in this coming weekend. I have been chasing down parts, more than working on it. But it is starting to come together now.
Here is an original Berk housing before undergoing "surgery".

Here is the housing after some mods. I have to take it to work and tack it together to verify fit. I still have to cut a pitch on the added part to align the transom flange, and the bowl section.

Looks similar to a Mantra tunnel. Whether a Texas tunnel was the original design, I have no clue.

Set the motor in today, temporarily, at least. I have to do a bit of trimming on a couple of items. I also want to add a pump brace, and wanted to verify clearances.

Is it just me, or do those headers seem to sit high?

Update: I am on schedule getting this beast back together. Pump is sealed up, and the motor is in. Wiring and gauges are in and done, with the exception of the distributor. Fuel system is done. I have to make a battery mount so that can get installed and hooked up. I will put the headers on last and run the water after that. Then a few minor details, and to the river to test. Water test should be done by 5-27.

I think it's cause that boat is WAY shallow and it's sittin atop the tunnels?

Hey Dave, whereabouts are you in Delaware??? I am in Massey, MD near the line. I'm building a 1978 Hawaiian 20' jet and putting a SBC in it. Id like to see pics of the one you have. Where do you boat? I launch at Turners Creek and cruise the Sassafras and Bohemia. I usually hang out at LLoyds Creek or Ordinary Point if the kids are with me. Jeff

I need some cheap seats, Thru transom exhaust, SBC driveline and mount plates ( I can make them myself if I have to), gas fills, water inlets, thermo housing, pressure regulator, that outta leave me broke so guess its enough for now. That is funny as heck the Ebay boat. I saw it but didnt notice the intake. I did notice the whole engine is really rusted..... But its got new roller rockers. What a deal.

I'm right on the border-line of Hockessin and Wilmington, Rt 41. I have a few parts here, but nothin sbc specific. Come to think of it, I have a Chevy driveline you are welcome to. I haven't finished cleaning out the garage yet. :jawdrop:

Hi Dave. I would love to come and get that SBC Driveline from you sometime near the end of the week. Is it a 1310 and PTO adapter or a direct bolt up deal? How much do you want for it? My cell # is (302) 275-7815

It bolts to the flywheel with no PTO adapter. I never measured, but it might be 1350 U-joints. Easy enuff to check.
