Today is the day. Every good hearted, right wing American, please pray that we are freed from the corrupt Liberals. Goodness knows its about time.

With something "less" communist would be the thing to do.

Liberals are just plain mobsters. They have no morals whatsoever, and will do and say anything to attempt to stay in power, so as to be able to give kickbacks to themselves. NDP are straight up communist. Its a shame the conservatives keep moving lefter and lefter, but they are a heck of a lot better any of the alternatives.
I'm not sure if this made it to American news or not, but a couple weeks ago it was found that the Liberals are involved in some sort of illegal insider-trading. Information about a new taxation policy was leaked to certain liberal-friendly people who bought stocks of companies which would benefit from this policy. Well the Liberals shugged it off with both Paul Martin and Ralph Goodale (finance minister) saying that it is nothing but a "smear campaign in the middle of the election by the opposition." It has nothing to do with the opposition, it is an RCMP investigation. Both claim that their office had nothing to do with it, and that is supposed to be enough. ONLY THOSE TWO were supposed to have knowledge of the information before the announcement. The information somehow got to the traders, and it could ONLY have come from them, so therefore either Paul Martin or Ralph Goodale has committed a crime (or both :) )It is not a question of WHETHER a crime was committed, it is a question of WHICH ONE committed the crime. And when this involves either the Prime Minister or the Finance Minister, it seems pretty irresponsible to simply sweep it under the rug until the election is over, which is what the media has been doing.
But I better go vote, haven't done it yet.

Just wondering if anyone else finds Rick Mercer (extreme socialist in the guise of a comedian) to be one of the most repulsive individuals around.

Its just a shame it isn't a majority. The three opposition parties are all rabid socialists. I bet it will be under a year until the government falls and we'll be back at it again. To be able to survive at all they will have to make a deal with someone, which is never a good situation. If they make a deal and go do socialist crap, the right wing people will lose all faith in them AND the lefties can say "look, they didn't do what they said they would, their liars just like us." And if they don't make any deal, the lefties will claim "they don't want to do and work in parliament, they are just power hungry." At this point, all I hope is that they can manage to allow dual marketing of grains. If we were allowed to sell our own grain outside the wheat board, I would estimate my family's income would easily triple.
BUT... I will take a Conservative minority over a Liberal minority or majority anyday :)

I'll bet you're right.
I can't share your view with regard to the conservative party being a panacea, though. The country may well be ready for a change but I don't see any election result having any positive effect on my life in the near future.
... unless this new caste runs us into the ground financially, I can't imagining being able to discerne any change at all.
... like the provincial conservatives ruined us financially in the 80s. ... fukkwads. :yuk:
