TPI

HERE WE GO,
We are coming up on the end of the year(already), and I have two brand new motors available:
1. 2007 TPI848efi(Fully polished with TPI stubby snout upgrade)$45950
2. 2007 TPI848efi(ALL Blue and polished)$39999.00
I do not want to take these motors into 2007. I really want them attached to my total sales and engine production for 2006.
Here is what I am willing to do:
I will offer FREE installation of either of these motors in your brand new boat. This is basically a $4000 value! If you are upgrading, trading in, or whatever else, I will take off $4000 from your labor bill(I do not do interior work)! I will personally install the motor and perform the necessary rigging associated with the motor in my usual show quality style! The motor you choose MUST be paid for in full no later than December 29th 2006.
Consider this thread a coupon. YOU MUST mention this thread to get this offer.
Ask any questions you like. There are no "catches". My customers know that I do not run my business that way. The polished motor is ready and the blue one will be done in a couple weeks. Come one come all!

OK,
Leave it to a fireman to come up with this one: I was just conacted by a HB member(minutes after I posted this ad) and was asked, "What if I am buying a boat with twins and I purchase two 848's by the year end, will I get both of them installed for free?" The answer is YES, I will take $8000 from your mechanical labor bill! If the motors are purchased in full by December 29th 2006. I can do the labor in 2007 when your boat is ready, that is no problem.
This is one of those times when the saying "if it seems to good to be true, it probaly is, is BS". This is a real deal and no joke. I would take advantage of it, seriously.
If you guys could help me bump this toward the top, that would be awesome!

Thanks for the bumps guys. My customers know, as bad as it sounds, I don't give "deals". I feel like it's very hard to discount this kind of quality and craftsmanship. If anyone jumps on either of these motors, they will be praising them. They are very nice and user friendly.
The motor pictured below is actually the very first 848 built and tested in my own personal boat. It ran over 98 mph right off of the pallet, with no modifications to the ecu. I am certain I could have tweeked another two mph out of it to get it over 100 in a Howard 28 Bullet, but it was really nice and safe, where it was. So figure a 26-28' cat/deckboat should hit triple digits, providing it has a fast bottom.

I have a TPI700 in my Howard Sportdeck 28'. I can't say enough how happy I am with Gary's product. I have not even come close to pushing my boat to the limit but have see some great numbers so far just having fun. This weekend I was just cruising around and saw 84mph at 5300 RPM. The write-ups my boat got said that they were able to push it to 6200 RPM and reach speeds of 91mph plus. That was with a 26" 4 blade lab prop. I'm running a 28 4 blade now. I'm thinking mid 90's for sure. By the way, I'm coming on to plane in about 4 to 5 seconds with the 28" prop. Nice!
This engine is extremely reliable. I'm sure that is the general consensus with any of Gary's customers. Whoever snags this 848 is going to be one happy boater.
Kudos Gary!!

BTW, I am glad you are enjoying that 700. Let me know when you are ready for another oil change/service. (805)480-2693

We got a test ride in this boat before we bought ours and the ride is what sold us. AWESOME boat. Congrats on your purchase. Gary our boat will be up there in a few weeks, can you just slap one of those 848's in it while it's there?

Nick,
I could drop one of those 848's in there so fast, you wouldnt believe it. I would also be happy to take that 496 off your hands. :) But wouldnt your lovely wife wonder why you guys were accellerating so much faster and hitting triple digit speeds all of the sudden? Hey, maybe she was wondering what to get you for Christmas? Have her give me a call and I will meet you two over at Howard with this blue 848 :) Happy Holidays!

I will take one if you have a couch for me to sleep on for a few years. I am thinking burgandy or candy red trim would look really good on our boat or maybe the graphite look?? I'll keep dreaming, it's alot cheaper that way.

Merry Christmas!
Just call your performance boat manufacturer and tell them you purchased a new 2007 TPI 848 efi and Gary Taylor will be dropping it in personally(FREE). Have the gimbal and motor mounts in the boat and I will install it, align it and complete all of the associated plumbing to a show quality finish! I will even do it at their facility if they want. No problem. Or if you have a complete performance boat, just drop it off here and pick it up complete with your new motor! In that scenario you will net $4000 from the labor. BARGAIN!
Below is one of my customers enjoying his 2006 TPI 848 efi in the beautiful waters of Germany. He loves it!

That's the cool thing about these 848's. When the family is on board, just drive it normal and they cant tell. But then you say, "Hey honey, my buddy Jimmy wants to go for a ride up to Topock, we will be right back". Then its, "Hey Jimmy, watch how fast this deckboat gets to 100 mph!"
EVERYBODY WINS! :)

Concept1, I sent you an estimate.
The whole 848 thing is kinda funny. The motor is 540ci tall deck dart Big M. On all of my dyno pulls , with all of the parameters set, it made 848 HP, again, and again, and again. Not 850 and not 825. So I thought hey, for about the same price as an 800(509ci) I can build a very nice American motor that has the potential to be over 900hp real easily and at 848hp it will be more power for the dollar. The number 848 is so odd sounding, it has been a great tool tool to recognize my motors immediately in a conversation. :)

The whole free installation thing has really stirred things up. I think the polished 848 might be sold but the gentleman might want a 948, he wants one or the other for sure. The blue one is coming along nicely and is going to be really cool also. I will be finishing it up completely over the next ten days or so.

Absolute Speed & Marine in Havasu can do your service work(talk to Aaron). The motor comes with a 6 month/50 hr warranty, whichever comes first. All you will need to do is change the fluids at 15-20 hr intervals. The motor requires little maintenance. :)

Concept1, Thanks. I apreciate that. If you do want it, you might want to drop a deposit on it. These motors have a history for selling when the last bolt is being tightened. :)
Beer 30, Yes, I wanted to build a motor to the same TPI standards as all of my other motors, but not price it $5000+ out of the ballpark. To do so, I offer that subby snout kit as an option on this 848, as well as polishing and a MOAC intercooler. The big money is in the longblock. There has been no compromises. This is an American tall deck 540 Dart, capable of 1000hp with the right tune up and larger intercooler(race gas of course). My East Coast customers like the blue powder coating because it cleans so easily, and my Cat/Deckboat customers like the standard snout because they have so much room in front of their motor. Its a well thought out package, and it will be very popular in 2007.

Gary, have you penciled out how much it would add to go alum block? There will be those that would want the extra pounds shaved off in probably dual applications, but some singles as well. Since only the initial block purchase price would be different (all other components remain the same), what would it add in $?
Just curious, and to keep the thread going.

I have never been asked that honestly.
With this 848 package, I have done everything I possibly could on my end to get the price under $40K and still provide only the best parts, I could see someone wanting to do that with a 948 or a 1048, but I feel the 848 customer is going to be a little more conservative than that. This motor motor as it sits, should weigh less than the merc 600. If not the same. I have not weighed it, but I will soon. :shift:

JR,
If you seriously want this blue motor, let me know. You will do much better if we can sell your motor outright(it should not be a problem). I would be happy to use my avenue's to try and get you top dollar for it, or you can just trade it in to me and get it over with, whatever you would like to do. The motor price is set in stone, but the labor switch will be at no charge(details on the first page of the thread), you will need to modify your exhaust tails because this is a tall deck, but other than that, it should be real staright forward! Remember, this is the exact same longblock as my 1048 motor, so upgrading down the road is right there. These 848's are a great investment for a guy that is buying a performance engine.

Thats ok JR,
$39950+tax for the motor, and I will baby that Bullet of yours and exhange your motor for free! No labor fee if the motor is purchased in full by December 29th. Not including any interior work(But you wont need any, unless the hatch is .400 too low). This would work out perfect for you! Let me know, I will be in the office on Wed, but checking e-mails tonight and tomorrow.

Lot's of people contemplating this new blue 848, but no cash yet. It's going to be a sprint to the finish line! Who's gonna be the winner!
It doesnt have to be an announcement, the winner can PM me:shift:
Due to motor orders, this is going to be the last complete TPI motor available for immediate sale for a few months. Just FYI

It's not from lack of wanting - on anyone's part, I'm sure.
Xmas time is a hard time to sell such "luxury" items. Only the severe ballers could touch one of these during Xmas time.

Good point
OK,
CALLING ALL BALLERS! 848 for sale!
But then again, would a big baller settle for a little 848 hp TPI motor?
