I'm hoping to go to Pismo in the next few weeks. Do you have a house there or did you rent one?

We have a house up here. There looks to be quite a few vacation rentals available now (I noticed a lot of signs out this week)

Years ago they did. and thought it would never clean up. but now if you go down there, you would never know. its actually one of the most expensive places in this area now.

Very cool. We looking at renting one of those trailers that they take out to the beach and they want over $200 a night for one of those and can rent a house for $300 a night from a few websites.
Do you know anyone renting houses out there? If so, can you ride your motorcycles and quads from the house?

The trailer is probably the way to go if you plan on riding. You cant ride from the house to the dunes. once you get on the beach, its about 4 miles before you can ride a OHV. We used to load the toys up on the trailer and then tow them out there to the OHV area.

Traffic wasnt bad on Wednesday nite. Left the Rancho area at 830 n pulled into the driveway at 1145. We actually left on Saturday nite but didnt roll into home until 1215 this morning. We were in Avila on Friday at FatCats Cafe and went into Pismo for a slurpee at 711 and said hi to my friends who were at the RV park.

Great pics. We used to live in Shell Beach, we were at the end of Boeker down from Alex BBQ. Best time of my life! Had to move when I got a new job though, I wish we were still there!

If it wasnt for my kids living in Corona I would have moved up here already, I just cant be too far away from them. We are just north from the pier, My parents had an apartment in Shell beach that they rented whil looking for this place (took almost 2 years of every other weekend looking at property)

Our house is at the end of Wawona. It faces the ocean and the windmill house is across the street. I would move there in a heartbeat if SLO county ever was hiring. The house and the house next door have been in the family for over 30 years.
I love the rain up there.. Is there some fog in the air? If I can find some pics of our house I will post them.

cool, you should probably start a thread on that rhino thing ..... that would be neat   (was pismo a zoo?)
LOL...Yah, I dont think there are enough threads about them.
The dunes were Nuts...they actually started turning campers away. I have never seen so many people out there. from our house, the dunes looked like a city at night. I just looked out the window and there are still some campers out there. they are going to have fun getting out of there, the rain is starting to come down pretty hard now.

I know that place, it's beautiful! I used to work for central coast kayaks for about a year while I was up there and we'd launch the kayaks right down from there at the stairs.

I can see the pier in back ground, great place, I know the area well. I used to work for Pismo Beach Fire but then got hired down here so we had to move. Just couldn't do a 2 hour commute.

Nice house and great view. I bet your boys love it there. My son does when we go down to the beach across from our house. Did you see the dolphins on Thanksgiving Day? We saw 4 of them swimming south. I tried to get pics but no such luck.

funny thing is, they park in front of the house all the time and let the boys play with the Fire truck. Those stairs are brutal, 113 steps total and we usually surf twice a day. so we go up and down those carrying our boards...definitely a workout.

Yah, its the old port inn. Its at the end of the pier. We eat there everytime we come up, the boys like to go see the seals and looking through the glass tables. We have gotten to know the owner pretty well, and its a 3rd generation family owned business, all the kids work their busiing tables, bartending etc.....

You ever drop your boat in there? What's the housing market like there?

The boating at Avila is nice. The real estate is expensive....we are having are little slow down too. I've framed least 50 homes in Avila in the last ten years used to be pretty reasonable but not anymore. Lot of multi use, commercial on botton and apartments on top going in.
