So what does every one do with there black and gray tanks when there out at glamis and the river. Do you have some one come pump it or do you pull your trailer out and drop it at a place.

Hmmm??? I dunno. I think most people at the river ...like Crazy Horse & such have hookups. But as for Glamis & Ocotillo Wells...might not be a bad buisness to get into!

This guy has a similar business in Pismo. He could probably give you the details on getting started.

When we go to OW we dump at the Arco-AM/PM, or Loves or the Casio by Cabason. It's a hassle and if someone came around I'd probably spend the $$ to have them do it.

The honey trucks come around and they pump and give you fresh water.
It's illegal to release grey or black water at Glamis, Legal to release grey water only at Dumont.
The trucks used to be cheap, but now it's pretty pricy.
I think last time we saw them it was about $60 U.S.Dollars to pump out, and the fresh fill is charged by the gallon.

We never dump our grey at camp. We are usually at Ocotillo and we just dump at the Ranger station or Desert Iron Woods on the way out.
Letting the grey trickle is a good idea though. That is only tank that ever gets close to full. Thanks for the tip Pixie!!! :boxed:

Dumping Grey water at Glamis will only give those greenies more fuel to stop offroading there or anywhere. Last time we were there we stayed until Monday and most everyone else left. About 10am a van drives up a people start collecting trash and filming it, they also just left it piled up and left.

I agree. Dumping Gray OR Black anywhere except a dump station will only further the cause against all off roaders. Let's keep OW and Glamis open! Don't give them the ammunition - do what is responsible by only dumping at a dump station (gray or black) and pack out your own trash.

We take ours home (Black and Grey) and pump it into our pool. The filter system cleans most of it out. It saves on our water bill...

Nothing beats riding your motorcycle on the freeway behind some selfish inconsiderate cheapskate jackass dripping grey water!
Thanks!

I think she meant let it drip while camping, not while driving. At least that is how I read it.

I could have used those services at Cal City over turkey day. Cops said roughly 15,000 people out there. That could probably make you a few bucks.

I get a pump out at Pismo and dump my remaining fresh water before leaving for home. This way I don't have to lug the extra weight home. Its like $30 I believe.
As a side note they also sell Ice and Firewood.
Tom Brown I am sure will like the busted shit tank picture.

I know the rest area on the 8 Fwy near Ocotillo has a free pumpout, I would guess the other rest stops have them as well. You can use the pumpout at Borrego campgrounds if you pay the day use fee, $2.00 or $5.00.
We made a Mexico trip over the holiday weekend with out camper and when I asked where the pumpout was they just looked at me like I was speaking french.... LOL It ended up out in the desert a little ways off the road....
