Not the "peak". It's considered an act of desperation so outlandish that instead of re-vitalizing something, causes it to tank so badly that the subject just fades away.

Funny thing is Henry Winkler was on the radio talking about this a couple weeks back.
He said Happy Days was still #1 for several years after that episode.He said he never understood it because it dosen't really apply.
Sounds like a good episode of Myth Busters to me!! :)
