I just had to share my progress on my new jet... It's been in the boat for months but I had no time to finish all the details. I was working on it an hour at a time until this weekend.
It's a blueprinted Aggressor 9-vane bowl, w/ bronze AA imp., droop, hyd. place diverter etc... a huge upgrade from the old hat that was in it.
What kind of increase do you'll think I'll see as is, w/o a ride plate and loader, from a tired stock JC?
The only thing now is to install the diverter switch from Rex Marine... it's been two months since ordering, and I settled to jerry-rig one they have in stock.

me thinks that AA impeller is a might big for your engine. You got a 455 olds in it right?

That's exactly what I thought... it was toned down to something between and A and AA. I'm kinda going along w/ Squitin' Thunder's idea on the impeller issue. The motor was rebult and estimates have it in the 430 horespower range. Whata think?

Your engine (455) will live much longer with the bigger impeller, meaning you can run it harder and longer than you would be able to with something less than an A impeller. Just take care of the motor, no five mile WOT blasts :)
Looks great! Now go have some fun :D Sleek

I think the Olds will get along great with that impeller. Should keep it away from those high Rs that will kill it. ;)

My olds would damn near pull tree stumps, I think the A/AA might be good. 455s do not like running long periods WOT.

Boy do I know all about the 455 problems guys! The first season I was seeing what it could do and I ended up w/ oil pouring out the oil fill, PCV valve and valve covers. I thought, well that didn't last long... i figured I'd get one season before an eng. overhaul.
So I've learned my lesson, and no more WOT passes... for very long... and I had a knowlegeable boat engine builder build it to last (knock on wood) w/ restrictors, a custom Gale Banks 10 qt. oil pan, semi-hot Engle cam etc...
I'm lovin it...

Im about to put a AA impeller in mine. Im looking for a strong hole shot and want to keep the rpms below 5000. Im gonna do some head porting and re cam my engine to make peak torque at 5000.

What kind of boat owner would I be if I didn't??
Yes, it is a 1972 Nordic. From my research they called the model a "Scandia" Fitting I suppose... Nordic... Scandia...Norway...Scandinavia? I dunno.
These are the best pics I have avail. at the moment

I have one of the curly corded switch and the diodes from page 42 of the RexMar web site "catalog" if you are interested http://rexmar.com/page42.html. Bought them for my previous boat but then I sold the boat. $50 plus shipping, PM if you are interested.
