Need some help from the Parker locals.
I'm racing in the Parker 425 feb 2nd 2007 and all the places I have stayed in Parker in the past are already booked between race traffic and Snow birds. I was thinking it would be nice to not sleep in the typical desert fashion of my Lance Cramper. Anyone have a suggestion? trailer parking for two race cars is a must. This is my first Parker 425.
I'm not looking for a hook up on tshirts, sponsors, gas, or anything of that nature and I will pay the rent up front. :rollside:
Thanks

Whatcha racing?
We are a$$holes and Elbows on a Jeepspeed 2 car. Running the first JS2 car in class 1700. Started building the chassis Monday, and there has been someone working on it almost every waking hour since they started. It should be ready to race in 45 days.
They would not let me race my buggy in JS 3 so I'm building a new car.. The buggy would not pass the new saftey rules for SCORE either so I had to build a new car anyway. I'm hoping to make a run at the 1000 in the next 2 years.

Right on....JS is a pretty competitive class you should have a blast. If you need any help at Parker let me know. I SERIOUSLY doubt our new truck will be done and ready for Parker. I wish...I've never raced that race and I would love to. Barry Becham at RPS started working on the truck this week to try to get it finished up. Right now I would say it is 75-80% done but there is still 30-45 days worth of work for a full time crew.

Shoot me the car number and maybe a pic and I will get some race footage for you. We will be camping at Bouse camp area (not good for you) and shooting stills and video in an 3-4 mile track area out from the pits.
Good luck.

Cars not done being built yet but I will post the pics of it before we head out. The tenitive number is 1703 but will have to be verified as the jeepspeed sanction has not got back to me yet on the number.

The Parker is an OK race, it is a Best In The Desert race which means no chase, if you break you wait, it is a good race to have friends at that can run parts out to you.
We have semi-retired the number 1718 (formally 1700 class champ back to back) after an unfortunate roll and T-Bone in Lucerne)
We may be out in the #260 Best Buy, Yellow Freight pro truck, suffered little to NO damage at the 1000 (3rd in class) so look for us around and we'll kick in whatever help we can.

Looking kinda thin on pit crew as we are just getting started Barry. I stole half the good help from the team I was crew chief for last year so We are starting from scratch. You work for free? We don't even have a budget for steekers yet. :rollside: Let alone a beer budget for anyone that boats. :) Parker is going to be a cluster fawk for us I'm sure and don't want to scare anyone away. Brand new car will run but how well we will see. I'm using the crawler to pre run she won't be doing any rock crawling any time soon that is way too slow now!.....Ha ha like a jeep speed is fast LOL. :boxed:
We'll take any help we can get.

It has been assholes and elbows down there for a month. There are 2-3 vehicles down there on any given day that don't belong to the Woods. It is making progress, but I know it will be down to the wire.

Jeff here,
I'll post up some info on the build in a new thread on monday some time since I have recieved so much intrest through PM's and phone conversation. I'm excited that there is this much interest in my little project. Thatnks to all the people that have offered to help, it's amazing to me. I was up till one am this morning and I'm headed back out in about an hour. Angie nailed it, assholes and elbows, but I'm fairly sure we will be ready.
I was unable to make the prerun out there today as we are more interested in getting it built , but a friend who is also racing jeepspeed is going to share his GPS notes.
Thanks guys

We are camping in the main pits, I have no idea which part, The car number is 1706.

Good luck to all that are racing come look up MMSW in the pits she will likely be board out her mind and attemting to drown the bordom out with some Jack and Coke:devil: I'm running the car for the DJR team from Race mile 50 on the second lap to the finish. Somebody better have some beer when I cross the finish line..
Things are looking great at DJR and we are working on obtaining the backing to race in the 40th Baja 1000 in november. See ya at the race. You can see the whole build up at
