You can't use that pan for your boat if you are running the drive shaft off the flywheel. You need a v-drive pan & oil pump pick up as your engine is in the boat backwards. V-drive pans also have baffels with little trap doors that open backwards from a standard pan.
Look into a Dooley pan. They are not cheep but someone might have a used one.
For your v-drive, it most likely needs new bearings and your driveshaft needs new u-joints. Don't skimp here as if one of them fails your sitting right next to it.
I would send your v-drive off to Tom @ Menkins for new bearings and have him check out the gear setup.

If that's the pan that was with the boat, the motor was probably being turned off the balancer end, if I remember right we ran most of our boats off the balancer end until we went to the runner bottoms, I think it was a circle boat thing????
Tom, What do you do with the extra pieces when you are done rebuild one????LOL

Yep, I sell a puller to remove the top bearing. I'll need to make another batch of them, but if you want one I'll get right on it. I also can send you the exploded view / parts list for your box that will help you out.
Shoot me an e-mail if you want one.

Hey sww I have a pan that might work for you! a Moroso BBC marine pan. I was going to put it on my sanger flat but the boat is too flat. it did not have quite enough room for me. it has all the baffels with the trap doors superdave was talking about. It lists for 319.99 in jegs. I will sell for 100. you can email me at FireWingd@hotmail.com

That's a great deal on that pan. But make sure it's not just a marine pan, but a marine V-DRIVE pan. The baffles will be backwards from a standard marine pan.

It I believe it is a 10 qt pan. I am not sure if it is a v drive pan or not. the pan did come with my boat and it has been used. and I know that the guys last boat was a vdrive to so I think it has been in one. how do i tell if it is?

The baffels will open to let the oil drain back towards the balancer end of the engine.
