snow weight was left out due to "value engineering"

What a nightmare.
There will be some killer insurance salvage deals if someone has time to get down there and pick them up. During a large scale loss like that they usually just pay off on claims quickly and try to get rid of the inventory for x on the $.

Two inches of ice, followed by over a foot of snow will push the limits of any slip roof in this part of the country. Add the high winds and it is not a surprise they failed.
The storm also took out one of the Tracker plants in Miami, laying off 150 employees for awhile. There were 40 new boats destroyed in that deal. About $1M damage. They are going to try to set up another shift in the plant across the street to continue full production.
The loading factors in the area can be tricky The docks are all floating units, so if they build them to handle all snow loads possible, that will add a lot of weight from the additional steel. The additional weight would require a bunch more flotation. Then you have to deal with the fact that the weight of the snow will sink the dock.

Looks like they could use a few good men down there.
Salvage work in those ice waters would be burrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Hi greg, thx for stopping and changing the tire on my wifes truck a few months back. Btw, she had one more flat about 10 hrs later.
You are a lifesaver in the 115 degree heat!
