Anybody running a Merlin Marine 4150 intake?
I'm running one and have been told that this intake is not very good on a 509 BBC - that I'm leaving some HP on the table. Is this true and if so what would be a good intake? The motor is in a jet boat.
I will be going to a 540 for the next rebuild I hope, so I'm looking for a intake that will work on both. Any help would be greatly appreciated

You have the Merlin dual plane with the brass water inserts correct? If yes then for a Jet application over the 500 inch range a single plane intake is a better choice.

Maybe this will help him indentify. I was going to respond as well but didnt know if he had dual or single plane.
