Scootney Report: 1969 Hallet long deck with 585 dyno-horsepower blew away the circle boat competition by half a lap! So much for close racing! I blew up my {safety first} whirlaway and split my split case in another direction while chasing the former K boat! I'm done for the year, but the Nostalgic Circle Boats arent! Three more rookies with a 71 gull Hondo, 1965 Wickens long deck, and a 1976 Lavey trunk model competed for the first time. I still cant post pictures but you can see the the fastest 2nd place winner in the ski-boat class at: www.raysoncraftboats.com. (http://www.raysoncraftboats.com.) Its the one named OURX numbered, A9. These are its restoration pictures and Ray has got this thing 'hauling glass'! Andy got his first First place heat and was promptly escorted to the water to cool his britches!!! This 1963 {heavy} flat was pulling away from the rest IN THE CORNERS! After each day of racing they water skied for 3 hours! It has a 429 Super Cobra Jet with l.00 gears and a THREE blade prop! That's right, 1 to 1 gearing! Picture that folks. The hull must weigh in at 2500 pounds! The class winner was a newer 71 Rayson craft that had some tuning help from Ray Defir also so it was a Rayson sweep in the Ski Class! Next race is Entiat Wa. Aug 3-4 with double points and I expect over 14 boats to time in on Saturday. Hope no one is bored by these reports or I'll stop wasting my boat repairing time. If you want more info contact me or the BlondeBombshell or Boatguy222. The jerkster is drydocked so I'll use my breakfast bagle like a steering wheel and simulate hard left corners while mashing on the linoleum with my left shoe while my faithful wife spashes dishwater on my face! Circle Jerk ps thanks Kieth for the insiration and we missed your Montana flats!

CircleJerk, you forgot about the 3rd place winner in her 1970 Laveycraft. I want you all to know that we were all really evenly matched. It now comes down to who can get the best start at the clock. Even though Andy's Raysoncraft was out front, Jerry's Raysoncraft(1971)was one boat length behind him all the way with the '70 Lavey 2 boat lengths behind that '71 Raysoncraft. No one seemed to be able to pull away from each other, but we couldn't seem to catch up either. All of us had different sized motors, but between the the gears and props we were pretty well matched. All in all it was alot of fun. By the way the '67 wickens aquacraft was 4th and maybe 2 boat lengths behind that Lavey. Good job rookie. You did a great job. We can't forget the '71 gull Hondo. He was also a rookie. You also did a great job. I hope to see you all at Entiat. Andy you now have the biggest bullseye on your back. Let's see if you can keep it on your back. I have to admit that this is the most fun I've had in a long time. Everyone has a great attitude and are in it for fun. After all it's only a plaque and some recognition at the end of the year. Most of all it's the friendships that are being developed between all of us. It seems like one big happy family.
See you all at Entiat! Hope to meet and see a lot more new boats and drivers. Let's all come and have a blast!

ScottThanks 126, I was in Burley for my first time this year and I cant remember if I saw your boat there. I would have loved to bring 6 of our oldest rides down there but there was hardly any room left in the pits! I was like a blind dog in a meat packing house bouncing from one beautiful piece to another. With the Video Guys help I met some of you 'stars of the sport' but I was overwhelmed by the dollars sitting there! It would be great to see you and your boat at one of our races. The next Entiat race should bring George back to help the new owner of his Reunion winning Sanger get the 'feel' so that makes TEN new rookies in three races! Our Elma Lake race has been cancelled {near Olympia Wn.} due to the property owners who felt they only wanted the outboard hydros and not the inboards! They were afraid, I have been told, that this might open the door to a different sanctioning body race that I wont mention and they did not want them! So we have all of August and two weeks in Sept to tune up for the Moses Lake Sept 21 record setting show! This same kind of thinking kept us off CourdeAlene Idaho lake for fear it might bring boat racing back to the area after the riot causing unlimiteds of the 60's. Every now and then I feel branded like a Harley rider with black leathers! So, thanks Scott I am not giving up until we are accepted where ever we chose to race. I'll see you in the pits soon. Does anyone know of a race in Washington where we can demonstrate some of our enthusiasm????Or Idaho, or Oregon? Jerk........If I dare say so myself: we have some dang close exciting circle racing growing up here in the West!

No, we weren't at Burley. We're sitting out most of the season while we fall back and get everything completely dialed in. Keep up the good work!
