That's right, good ol' schida96 hooked me up last weekend. He made me a SWEET turn fin for my boat. So I drove up to 1,000OAKS to pick it up and also put a face with the name.
Let me tell you, he does some very very nice work.
Take a look. Do you think jetboatguru could hang this fin?

It's not just tacked. The mounting plate is slotted with the fin placed inside and welded from the top.
I will polish it and it will be real pimp.

He also made this bad ass logo with a laser cutter. Now a laser cutter is an item that I wish I had. Maybe someday, yeah right!

Here is a spy shot of E Ticket's strut. It looked real nice to and the machine work on the barrel looked real good. It's not a drop thru but I guess that's the way Schiada does them. I might have to talk him into making a new strut for me.

It was great to meet you Jeff and thanks for the fin!

Dave I'm glad you like your parts. Let me know if there is anything else you need and I'll make it.
Jbg my boat is ready just time and money is the problem for the river.

Morg.Morg I can't believe you did that with a router. Those brackets are very cool. You know if you like building that kind of stuff there are occationally used Bridgeport mills (or similar) around for around $1000. I passed one up a while back. Not that your method didn't work well just that a simple mill would make it alot easier for ya. :)

That is some NICE stuff! Dave, you are going to have the most pimped out one off custom boat on the river this summer. Thats right I said this summer :D
Schiada96, smooth work on the parts. If you don't mind me asking, what process are you using on to weld the stainless? I am always curious to hear/see how other folks are doing things as there is usually always a better way to do things.

I would love to have a mill in the garage. At this point all the extra cash is going into the boat. I even skipped going to the world finnals this year, to add to the boat fund. Going to the races is great, But I'll trade it for run'n my boat at the lake anyday. :D :D

Schiad96 brought my strut over last night. Looks sweet. Has to have a slight mod and will try it again Tues. evening. We talked of doing a dual drop thru fin for the Howard, but my v-drive sits right over on of them. May have to have him do 2 individual ones like I have now, only stainless.
What is the vote for polishing my strut?

SD013- Great minds...Here's the 'homemade' turning fin that ended up on the bottom of my vector. Same construction. The veed plate is slotted with the fin welded on the backside.

Schiada96,
My Revenge sprint has a large piece of 1/4" aluminum mounted to the kick panel. I was wondering if you can do some text on that plate?
Didn't know if the laser cutter could be set up to only cut 1/8" into 1/4" material. I would prefer to just cut onto & not through. Let me know.

Morg I can cut .187 alum thk max it will cut .375 stainless and .500 steel. It will not machine a pocket. We can remake it from .125 and put a backup plate. :p

I'm a little way's off just wanted to see if it could be done. Doin the backup plate would make it easyer to "color" the lettering.
Thanks fo the info. :D :D

Schiada 96, With your laser cutter how much would it cost to make me 10 sets of 3/8" thick stainless header flanges? I have a pattern.
I'm considering making some more sets of the stainless turbo exhaust manifolds.
A low grade stainless is fine for the flanges.
We put a crane in at a shop that had 6 big laser machines in a row. They said those things cost
$ 600k each. No wonder they had to run them round the clock.
Thanks
Mark
