That boat is in awesome shape. The hull and gel look like new. I bet that boat has not set one day outside. That is a nice rig. Good luck.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. The boats condition is truly amazing. Hasn't sold yet, but several lookers. I will post where it has moved to when it sells. Looks like either Oklahoma, New Mexico, or Michigan.

BAM,

And now she's in my garage........
I see an immediate advantage here.....I can back into the garage farther.
A big thanks to John Estes, all around great person to do business with.
The boat was exactly as you presented it if not better.
And NO ........I'm not selling the jet boat now that I have a V drive boat too.
I'll just be the only person that has a jet boat for a hot rod and a v drive for a cruiser. :D

You could always swap motors.....

You could always swap motors.....
Well that's always possible but in my mind to put the turbo motor in the Daytona, it would certainly mandate removal of the auto trans and that makes it less user friendly. I can't see any trans holding up to that much torque.
Even if I removed the trans and ran direct drive I can't see that large and heavy of a hull running with the jet boat up to the 100 mph mark which is most lake racing. I bet the top end speed would be incredible though.
I bought it specifically to be a 4 seat, user friendly, semi quiet, pump gas lake boat that will handle the level of choppy water we get on an average weekend.
After running it a season if I decide on something other than the Ford motor I would more likely concider a turbo / EFI aluminum small block that could run a trans, be quiet, and be lighter weight. You can get a complete all aluminum small block engine for just over $ 6k out of the Summit catalog. 15# of turbo boost should put one well above the HP of the Ford motor and be significantly less weight. I could do that with one turbo and use a turbo 400 trans with it too.

Very cool boat! It should be alot of fun.
As far as the TH400 in a turbo boat goes, there's ALOT of guys running them in their turbo ski race boats.
Sounds like the wheels are already turning, as far as a repower goes. I think it's awesome as it sits, BUT a turbo motor in there would be cool.

How much power do the ski race boats put to a TH 400 ?
I was under the impression that even if it was a beefed up trans 1000 hp was about it.

held up fine. i know mine is very srong with all the work that was done to it.

Thanks,
I'm real impressed with the rigging job Eliminator did on this boat.
All the motor, trans, and gearbox mounting hardware was polished and anodized.
Lot's of custom machined out pieces as well as a Nicson cast aluminum front cover on the motor that the cam drive water pump mounts to.
I took the center cover off and near as I can tell this has about 20% OD gears in it.
The trans has no cooler, the line is just looped.
Is the cooler not important when you don't have a torque converter ?

they guarantee mine up to 2000 hp and they make better ones too less op to brake a good one in a boat than in a car
