I'm new here.....and sort of a rookie to this way of life. My dad used to race around the illinois area with a 1974 Sanger V-drive witha 468 named Running_on_Empty back in the late 80's and early 90's.
Right now i'm really hot on buying a boat....my heart says v-drive....my budget says jet, so i was wondering if somebody could tell me if this is a good deal.
The boat is a 1978 sanger superjet......tandom trailer...original paint....not a bad hull from what i see in the pics. It has steering...gauges....tanks....and the stringers are good. It comes with a partially put together ford 460..or he has a 390 that needs rebuilt..and he says the jet is ok...??....It needs interior but the seats are there. He wants 2,ooo for it? Is this boat worth buying?

Your dad would slap you on the back of the head if you bought a jet.
Where do you boat primarily, big bodies of water or small, rivers or lakes and what will you use the boat for?

And say "Damn son... you learned from my mistakes without having to make a bunch of your own... you make me proud to be your father!" ;)

Too much money! Keep looking and go for rides in as many boats as possible. The economy is, turning and more inexpensive boats, will appear on the market. Do not, buy a fixer!
Ps. get a chevy powered boat, me? I am a smart, Ford man....

If you have a fat bitch as a lover...maker her walk 3 miles in the morning and 3 miles in the evening.....that way by the end of the week that fat bitch will be 42 miles away from you.
