Hi everyone, thisis my first attempt at a posting a pic. Hopefully you can see a page from my 1971 Sidewinder catalog.

I'm wondering, has anyone out there seen one of these 16 SS's with a jet drive? I've seen a bunch of the 18's, but never this one. Bet it was a fun boat.

My uncle Jim back in Indiana has that hull but it has no windshield, he was talking about getting rid of it too.

I looked for one for a couple years but no luck.
Closest I got was a 16' bubbledeck in Mich.
How the heck you been?

I saw a 16 jet on ebay a while back in sad shape.
Have you guys checked out the new Sidewinder website?

Thanks for the link. I've searched Sidewinders several times and never came up with this one.
Where are you at?
I'm in Central Missouri (LOTO). My 18SS isn't big enough for this water on the weekends so I'm looking for alternative areas to run. I may head down to Table Rock, Beaver, and an occasional run on the rivers around MO.

Cesar! Good to hear from you. I'm doing fine, but boating has been poor here the past two years. Hope that changes this year. How are you and the Dirty Sock doing?
Maxwedge--thanks for the Sidewinder link. I'm a long time fan of these boats, especially the SS's.
I have other images from the '71 catalog if anayone is interested.

I think this guy just started this sidewinder site.
I have an 18SS as well. I'm in Bloomington IL. I might make it to table rock this year.

By all means post em up. I love looking at old ads.

I'm doin good Brutha! The sock is still strong after 3 yrs with the new mill.
Why's the boating been poor? Water conditions?
Bring that bad boy to the river with us next spring for our get together.
PA isn't really that far.:D :D :D :D :D :D
We bought a second place on the river last year as well.
Here's a couple pic's from our spring meet.

Cesar, glad to hear all is well. We've had poor weather and a nasty flood, but what can you do!!! Those pictures have me itching to get the boats out, it would be great to take a road trip out your way. I don't mind driving. Afterall, I did drive 1100 miles--one way--to buy my Sidewinder!
I'm going to post the other catalog pages as a separate thread.

This boat was the second jet i had ever restored and the first boat i ever owned. I am sure they never imagined it would look like this back in 72. It is called a samauri not much more info. But it is 16ft. Very fun with a 468BBC

That's a really sharp lookin paint job man. Did you have the widshield frame powdercoated or is it paint?

Very nice job an the boat but I dont understand the large engine cover. Was it for engine clearance or did you want a flat spot back there when it's parked? I have a similar hull but 18'.

Hey, hope everyone had a great New Year!
Old Guy--you're boat could have been my boats twin, right down to the transom light, white 3-spoke wheel and dual air horns on the deck (except my horn had been mounted in the center). Was your boat a '71?
Somethings Gonna Happen--thats a great looking boat, and it must be a blast to drive. Is it a Tahiti?
Summer is on the way!

Its a 72 Samauri Jet..... not sure about much more cause they made so many different take-offs back then. The windshield frame is just painted but the new owner wants it powdercoated. The 468 BBC is a blast in that boat. Kinda sorry i got rid of it now
