If you have a engine starting problem summer time.
1. Engine starts than stalls under throttle
2. After running the boat and shutting the egnine off for 1-3 hours engine does not restart.
3. Engine trys to start but sounds like it is out of gas.
Vapor lock may be your problem (it happend to me on a hot Havasu day)
Mercury eliminated the low pressure fuel pump (pump from tank to the high pressure fuel injection pump).
Check Mercury Service Bulletin 00-7

basically you have to pul the fuel injection cover off and there will be a white BUTTON
then you have to push it start the boat and turn it off
and then repeat like 5 times and then let it sit for a minute then start the boat and problem solved...
DONT QOUTE ME ON THOSE STEPS
but my friend was having problems and a mechanic walked me thru it over the phone, it has never happened again...
