Just spoke with the Sacramento Visitors. Due to the Da Vince Code exhibit from 4/20 - 8/19, there will not be a Bridge to Bridge festival this year. Plan for 2008.

Really Jerry, I hadn't heard that. Thats to bad, always a great event put on by Chris. A loss for the city.

sh*t that sucks! I sure hope that it's not true. let us know what Chris says. I'm really looking forward to rolling through the bridges next year nice and fast.

If it doesn't happen I will personally organize a "dam to floating porta-potty" run out at Folsom the same weekend. lol

I am bummed as well. Was trying to set up my schedule for next year. They have all kinds of info posted for the Da Vince exhibit, but nothing for Bridge to Bridge. I called and was told that info. See for yourself. Their # (916)808-7777
Think we should do something in support of Bridge to Bridge. Is it possible Chris can find another venue for this year? We have way too much fun at this event to let it pass.

THIS JUST IN!!! I just got off of the phone with Chris Ayers, who puts this event on every year, and he says that the Bridge to Bridge will still happen it just will not be supported by the Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau and it may be shortened to 2 days instead of 3.

Thanks Kate. That's great news. 2 days will be sufficient. that 3rd day last year was grueling.

I think a better question would be was it running at all by the third day.
Oh by the way, Chris also told me that if it does get shortened to 2 days he will not allow some of the slower boats to compete in order to speed things up. Sorry Ken, maybe you can compete in 2008?

MERRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE. It is early Christmas morning and I just took a break from playing grab ass with all the elves and getting Mrs. Claus off of my face to respond to this crap.
Because the SCVB has chose not to fund the event doesn't mean it won't happen. It can and will happen if you the participants, and some corporate sponsors, want it to. There may be a date change, it may cost a little more and the format may change a wee bit BUT THE FUN, ACTION, POKER RUN AND GOOD TIMES WILL BE BETTER THAN EVER if I am involved in producing it.
Within weeks I expect to have the date and format set at which time a formal announcement will made.

I was hoping that just because it was rumored here to not be happening that it's wasn't a done (no go) deal,we had a blast watching the last two years...
I'm looking forward to the B2B next year.
Might even enter my slow ass sled just to be able to be on the water if nothing else...

when is this get togather and how fast or slow can the boats be? where is it held? any good hotels? is it worth driving from down south for?

It is most definetly worth the drive. Unleashed has been here at least the past 2 years last year w/ Kroozin. It's a great time. If you have something really fast, the pucker factor of running between the bridges is well worth running it hard.
