I have a hydraulic throttle setup that I hate. I need to know what I need to change it to a cable setup. I have a foot throttle (of course) with a holley carb. I Welded up a bracket and ran wire rope through the existing hydraulic line but that did not work (go figure). Please help! Summer is half over and I haven't been to the lake in over a year. Thank you

I don't know what you have now, but I think you are going to need the whole cable type foot pedal assy. The ones I've used have all been pushers, meaning that the cable gets longer to open the carb. So find the right type foot pedal, figure out how long the cable has to be, (you can come up from the front, or around and up from the rear)and you'll need someway to anchor the cable at the carb.(speed shops sell a plate that goes under the carb and has a clamp for the cable). Maybe check out some other boats for a clearer picture of what you need. ALSO, when setting up the cable, do not use the throttle shaft as a stop. make sure the pedal bottoms out, (WOT) when the carb is also WOT. Otherwise the pounding of the water will be transfered from your foot to the throttle shaft, and they don't like that.. Moneypitt

When you go to see Dave, tell him to knock the cobwebs off his GN Boat and get it ready for Thanksgiving weekend @ the BlueWater casino.
