I hear these do not like sand as much as Rhinos because they are quite a bit bigger. Be sure to air WAY down and bring a 12V pump with you in case you break a bead. If you don't air down you will burry it quick is the word on the street.

LOL, never affected mine or my other buddies Ranger being out on the dunes. Yes, we dropped the air, but so did the Rhinos that came out with us. :D

I am just passing along what I have heard from more than one person that runs them in the dunes. I don't know for sure because I don't own one. But it is a heavier vehicle running similar size tires so lower pressure would make sense. Just like a Suburban on 35"s would have to air down more than a Jeep on 35"s to stay on top of the sand.

looks really nice but the Yamaha's are the way to go. That ranger steering wheel just looks to bus like to me.

I air down to 5lbs. psi. Not worried about breaking a bead with bead locks.I usually run the dunes in 2wd.Never had any problems.

Just giving you a hard time. No big deal. The Ranger weighs 136 more. :D

Very nice!! 6 seater badass unlike the Rhino 4 seater max
Also 300.00 Custom motorsport will tilt the steering wheel (no more bus):D

I like Rhinos if I didnt have 2 kids or if I wanted to change to long travel.I personally think Rangers ride better than Rhinos in stock form.8" in the front and 9" in the rear is enough for what my famliy does with it.
Thanks for the great comments everbody

No problem. I think the issue is more along the lines of the loaded weight. You can put so much more in the Ranger--4 adults plus a few kids, cooler, etc.

My ranger runs like shit in the sand, gotta use 4 wheel drive, and it gets hot.
Pretty sure its the tires, the trick 14 inch'ers could be the problem.

You gotta be down around 5# to make it work. And use the 4x4. Why woudn't you?

I had Champion wheels build me some 12" Douglas .190 wheels. Didn't care for any of the 14" wheels.I air down.I rarely use 4x4 out in the dunes.I just keep the wheel speed up in 2wd.

I mentioned 4 wheel drive based on Revndave's comment about running the sand in 2 wheel drive, tried the 5 lb thing, not much help, buddy has the same tire set up on his and it runs the same. Most riding in San Felipe on the beaches, runs great on the hard pack but the salt water will raise hell in short time.:jawdrop:

You don't normally run in AWD on the dunes (you don't want to dig in the front). 5lbsm stock tires, should do it.
RUV did my dash too. They do great work!

I didn't know that. I'm not a dune guy. Just lots of years Jeepin' and such. Seems like the 4x4 would help not hurt but I've never tried it.
