LOL, Not that IÂ’ve got wsuwhÂ’s attention.
I hope to someday be a pussy and have a CNC machine. But for now IÂ’ll be a real man and turn the handle.
I've been sick as a mofo for over a week. I did start feeling better so I got back to work on a few things.
This is the base to my intercooler housing. I was going to weld it right to the manifold but changed my mind. This way I can change it if I want with out cutting up the manifold.
I started this some time ago and am now just getting back to it.
Big chunk!

Still a long ways to go!

Got the inside cut out. Lots O chips came off that!

Cutting out the slots in the sides. I didn't want any bolts on the inside of the housing. You'll be able to get the nuts on the studs from the outside now.

I like doing this kind of stuff.

What do ya know. It freaking fits. I still have to de burr and round off the corners a bit.

DAAAAAAAAAAVE!!!! right on bro. Glad to see you spitin chips towards the cause. Doesn't it blow to look at a $80 chunk of Al knowing that you are going to turn 70% of it into scrap :) Can I please add you and the Schiada to the guest list for the 3rd Annual CBBB? Holy Moly will be sportin that quad rotor deal, and I won't feel so bad gettin my ass handed to me if you can do the same to him. :)
Keep up the good work Dave!

I thought maybe you would shape the base to the top of the tunnel ram. Gotta hide those edges. :D

Chris I can tell you it sucks when you turn the WHOLE 80 dollar peice into scrap. HaHa.
In my younger days, I pushed a $2000 peice of H13 in the scrap bin with about 40 hours of machine time in it.
Now that REALLY sucks.
Right on Dave, I DID(and still do) turn handles, but I still give you props for your work, I'm telling you, you missed your calling.....

Honestly Dave,
Your work impresses me. You do a very nice job, it's funny to me to think that you aren't a machinist for a living.
But I would still whoop your ass in machine time....HaHa.

I did some nice parts Friday night and tonight that are proprietary(not to me), they came out bitchen. I wish I could show them off.
But I am also working on some banshee cases that I can talk about, that hopefully will turn the ATV market upside down. These parts will be nice.

Brian Brian, Thanks for the kind words. I kinda think that if I did this for a living it wouldn't be fun anymore.
And about that whoop ass in machine time. Yeah, well what can I say. But I was running at 5440 PM with the power feed cranked when I was cutting out the ID. Man O man was it slinging da big HOT chips.
One of these times I need to get up there and check out your opperation. Ya know, to see how the Pro's do it.
