I'm looking into "erecting" a stripper pole in the game room... Has anyone had experence with any on the market?
The cheapest is this thing - $50 on e-bay
http://www.peekaboopoledancing.com/product_info.php?products_id=132
The best I found is this one that includes a stage and no messing with the ceiling - $370
http://www.platinumstages.com/viewitem.asp?pid=10844&menu=stages
I want to stay away from drilling holes for sure...

The stage sucks and moves way too much, put two girls on it and it gets dangerous

do your research as some of them spin. I have some plans somewhere on my computer to build a stage if you want them
there is also one that is a stage and doubles as a coffee table..... has a plug in the middle of the table.
a lot of them are being sold as "exercise poles" do a google search

Build your own. A buddy and I built our own stipper stage based of Platinum Stages design. Made our own modifications and made it alot sturdier. Its a little heavier, but 4 women can have fun on it. We only spent about $125 bucks on materials and get lots of compliments:)

If anyones been to San Felipe and drinks:confused: then you have been to the Miramar, they have a new addition to the dance floor, a swing down pole!!!!! It is hinged at the ceiling and swings down and bolts to the floor, works great, Ive seen some pretty hefty talent swinging on it and it holds up!
More entertainment than Christy's!!!

yeah build your own... you can block off squares underneath it, install a thick peice of frosted plexiglass on top, then put in different colored lights and one of those deals that picks up sound and the light with go with the music.
If I recall Platinum Stages on ebay wants like 400-500 for one and it's pretty small.

yup....about 400 for the base model....and its not that sturdy. Crappy welds on the ones I have seen....mainly for looks and a small chick.

What did you use for the pole, and how did you securely mount it to the box?
I have 2" galvanized and 1" gas pipe lying around but the finish would be terrible... saw someone online that spray painted galvanized pipe and it looked like crap too...

Went to a supply store and bought a stainless pole...believe 3inches..we cut off about 8 inches of the pole and made a sleeve on the bottom which it sat snugly in. The sleeve was welded to the supports on the base of the stage. Slide the pole through and drilled through the pole and sleeve adding a quick release. You could use a bolt and nut or the pin and clip off a tow hitch. It turned out great.
