Well, that was a blast today, even though the family and I were just spectators, we had a great time, and met some great people. HolyMoly, zipping 5 stars your way, appreciate the ride around the lake! Not sure who was running around with the 117, but damn, you're nuts (meant in a good way)! You definately kept us on the edge of our seats watching you!!!

That was alot of fun, water seemed to stay pretty nice all day, you got to love watchin Damn to Damn run, the guy drives through anything.

I too had a great time,(once I got my motor lit, flooded it twice on the ramp :mad: )I didn't really care for the big ass hill we were parked on, and getting stung in the lip by a damn bee when I was trying to take a sip of my coke, but what ya gonna do. Tons of fast boats, 141,977 guru,smalls,the 117...the list goes on. Lots of busted shit too, but if your not breaking stuff everyonce and a while, your not running it hard enough. I blew a big ass hole in one of my header tubes. Its ok I didn't like thoes damn things anyways. Don't know how the jetter got on the water, doesn't really matter now. I hate to see anyone crash, just glad he is "ok". He did go to the hospital according to the guys drying out his motor.
If anybody got some pics of my boat, I would love to take a look at them. Blue injected hondo. Thanks

:) also my son enjoyed picking up rocks a friend of ours threw a rod though he was really bummed

even though im a jet guy,... f@#kin' impressed with those things!!!! everyone had beautiful boats out there but as for the blue rogers jet boat,...i hated to see that thing air out so far,...and barrell roll,...and eat shit!!!! but i hear all is well with the driver! if anyone knows the owner of the boat, i would be willing to lend a helping hand with the structural repair of the hull (fiberglass), after all it is a rogers,..knudge, knudge, wink, wink!! thanks todd

As far as a Jet Drive Regatta at Irvine, they are planning one for next year. They will be posting a calander for the upcoming years events for both....

I was on the water when it happened didnt see it happen only turned around and saw a boat bobbin.friends on shore said it was aired out alot and went over.I did see the boat afterwards when it was on land it appeared to be in good shape and no obvious damage.Driver was said to have a sore neck and back.
As for jet boat regatas or v drive i think this might have an effect on future fun days.After this incident the lake was closed shortly after.
btw how did this jet boat get in?

one of the guys with the yellow crackerbox, said the guy had caught a roller from the side!! all i know is, for as fast as he was,...his diverter was way too high!just .02!
oh and by the way,.. the owner of the property came down to see if the driver was ok and was livid with the fact that there was a jet on his lake!!! I would definitly ques. any further events!!! .03!

NTWO how the heck did you blow a hole in your header? I busted a hole in my header. I was running an old set of bassett water injected headers that were needing to be replaced, one of the primary tubes was real thin and while I was making a pass I heard a pop noise and thought I had bent a pushrod or broke a rocker...but it ended up just being a hole in the tube about the size of a quarter...oh well! wink

This is the Driver/Owner of the very fast 117 boat. This guy drove this boat "like he stole it" for pass after pass, loose as can be. I thought he would have run out of gas for as long as he drove it each time. What a site. Anyway, I had to go up to him and meet him and of course ask him his age. I won't post it but, let's just say he could be my much older brother and I'm old enough to have driven myself to a Beatles concert. Fastest small block flatbottom I have ever seen. Rock on Mike!!

The reason why everyone had knots in there stomach was they were worried this guy was gonna kill him self :( It was great seeing Big Proppa out there with his ride, and watching GURU,Smalls, Lookie lou, Billy B lay down some awesome passes. These guys dont go out and drive like a maniacs :confused: They make great passes with respect for there equipment and everybody else. I hate to say it but all it will take is one guy like SBM to have a bad crash and that will ruin it for everybody else :( These events are becoming rarer and rarer and I would hate to see another one go bye bye becuase of one out of control person cry Just my 2 cents from a nobody

Tried to lay the smack down in the Campbell cruiser, but no one would slow down to 60MPH!!
Dam to Dam Mike has a few years under his belt and knows how to drive in the rough stuff- if that stuff scared you, then you have never been to the Circle Races. F'n 1/4 mile woosies...a little chine walk and you soil yourself!!(j/k'ing!)
ntwotrance remarked (with a smile on his face from the passenger seat) that I ran the Campbell like a "bat outa hell"....I was thinking he needs a ride in my Mandella!

After reviewing my tapes ...my best footage came from: Lookie lu, smalls, Billy B. Jet Gu, Small block mike, Gould, the runner that threw its rods (done flippins old boat), Hazardous Waste, 006, and Rick King. I definately got some good shots of everyone else but these were standouts caught by my camera. It was a cool gig all in all, hopefully they can continue to fine tune this outing until everyone is happy. :cool: :cool:

Despite the negative critcism in "Traffic Update" I really enjoyed watching all of my friends and fellow hot rodders try to live it up. I must say that the rough water made for some interesting boat behavior and I'm sure it made for some good V-Drive Video God footage!! All I can say now is Yee-Hawww!!! :) :) :)

The two K's running around looked like they were having a blast along with the guy's in the twin turbo'd v-bottom. I would have to consider getting one of those with the water the way it was. Hey Sangerboy, Tell Eraser, "He got his scoop on backwards again"........Scott, how did the boat run...
Eraser was a little nervous, trying to impress his new girlfriend and all. He forgot to open the gas tank valve. Burned his leg on the header while opening it on the water, flooded the motor and washed down the plugs, got it started with a stack fire(thanks for the heads up Smalls) then finally got it cleared out and was able to pull 6500 to 7000 rpm's on a couple of passes. All and all very impressive :rolleyes: We're putting some hotter plugs in and going to test at Casitas tomorrow afternoon.
