My dad is looking at possibly getting a new trailer built for a 1977 24' Ranger Daycruiser (Sleekcraft splash). Does anyone know of a good place and what he needs to make sure the shop has for info? And what are the approximate dollar costs? I know that changes with accessory/options but ballpark.
I've seen some past threads and have seen a few companies named but I can't think of them of the top of my head.
Thanks, Todd

I thought remember reading a thread on here a few weeks back that Ellis Trailers is out of business.
:D Ellis Trailers in Sylmar, Calif. Talk to Mike if you can, but Robert Jr is pretty much running it since his dad is pretty ill, great people to work with, especially Mike, been there for many, many years. I paid about 6k for my triple axle, with disc brakes, with custom wheels about 8500.00, had Mike do a few extra things at no extra cost.
p.s. that was for a 21 v-drive application.

Remember Later's got one for sale and for a few extra bucks he can surely customize..... (Plus it floats unlike the boat it used to carry)

I just had one built by Target Trailer Service here in my area. The guy's name is Mike Kelly and he does great work.
He will need to take measurements of the boat trailer to start. Then he'll need the boat itself once he gets the frame laid up for it so that he can hoist it onto the frame to custom fit it to the bottom, so it would be a good idea to just deliver the boat to him before he starts. He can pretty much build it any way you want it built as well. and once it's done he can set the boat on it for ya.
This trailer has all LED left, center and right rear lights as well as side marker lights on the fenders to make night towing easier since the track width is wider than my truck slightly. It also has surge actuated disc brakes, and the actuator has an electrical bypass that is powered by your reverse light circuit to make it easy to back up. Double bunks, safety cables and a safety lanyard that when pulled actuates the trailer brakes in case you shear a hitch pin and the trailer comes off the truck. Also, diamond plate rear steps and 2 3,500lb axles as well. The frame is channel iron (as opposed to a tube frame, which gets water in the tubes and eventually rusts out since there's no way to get rust prevention coating inside the tubes), and as you can see it has the trailer jack, a winch, and there's also a bow stop for it, but we haven't put it on yet...gotta wait till we get the boat up on it to get it positioned properly. Price was about $3,500 minus the tires and wheels...Pebo here on the boards hook me up with the rims and I bought new tires for them.
Give him a call at (559)322-8863 and he'll take care of ya.
Here are a few pics of it.

There's only one problem with it...everytime I go to launch the boat, the damn thing sinks! :D
I knew I shouldn't have had them paint it "Later Blue"! :hammer2:
