Anybody out there have or know somebody who has an old school bmx bike they want to get rid of? Looking for a Redline, Mongoose, or GT. Complete bike would be nice. My oldest sons b-day is next month and thats what he wants. Fact is, I wouldent mind getting one for myself . I prefer to get a Redline. I looked on ebay, but some of them that are in my price range are pick up only. Sorry, but iam NOT driving to the east coast to buy a bike. Any help would be appreciated!!

Right now there is a Thruster for sale @ $459.00 on ebay (looks new) - and the guy will ship it.
There are also vintage bmx web sites - might ask on forums.

I love this thread!!!! It brings back memories!!!! I had a Rubicon(made here in az) with haro crupi pedals, redline flight crank, free agent forks, powerlite bars,dk cruiser neck, pitbull brakes, and sun shinok(sp) rims with flip flop hubs. I used to do alot of street riding. THen one day my brother got my bike stolen. He was specifically told NOT to ride it:cry::cry: I still can bust 360's on flatland.
I remember owning pk rippers,gt's,freeagents, haro's,jmc's, back in the day!!!!;) Great thread;) Brings back the youth in all of us;)

Sorry to tease you with this, I have my Redline MXII & Cook Bros Racing #116 bikes from when we were kids. I'm saving both of them for our kids. The Redline is near perfect, the Cook has been around but I think it's a bit more rare. Both were so good that I've held onto them for the past 15 years. Good luck with your search.

My son's birthday is coming up on the 6th. We were just out looking around for PK Rippers. I'd like to buy an old frame and build it but something like that is too valuable for him to stomp around on. This thread brought back some cool memories. I built a Diamondback "pit" bike that I had built from scratch when I was about
14 or so. Spent everything I had on it, just like I do on the toys I have now.
It was stolen right in front of my (parents) house 6 months after I built it. I used to do freestyle tricks on it. Man what I would give not to have to work to put food on the table again.
That ended my bike career, I never rode another bike after that. Switched to skateboards soon after, easily portable and not so desireable to steal.
...and to think I still have my last board I built.

There is a 26" OM Flyer at one of the shops I went to.
Apparently the SE Racing bikes are a little hard to come by these days. It's the general feel the stores gave me anyway. The local resellers around LA had very little in inventory. Then no one could really answer if I would get a bike from where ever they come from these days in a timely manner if I decided to order one through the resellers I did speak to. Not one of them had any PK Rippers in their stores. One guy had a 24" frame. I happened to find an SE Racing Bronco Expert yesterday and wound up getting that for my boy's birthday. Still not a PK Ripper though, if you know what I mean. I still might look into buying an old frame to rebuild it with my son. I have two boys so I'm thinking this would be a cool project to do with each of them. If I do, it will have to be a frame made here in the states though.

There's a company that aquired all the SE frame rights and they are now built in Japan. You can buy a new (old school) Bronco, Floval, OM, Assassin, Quad Angle and Ripper. But they arent the originals. Not as well built at all.
Here's the link. You can track down a dealer through the web site.

I can't believe you actually ride that PK and haven't cracked the frame on it. I had one 25 years ago and broke it within the first couple of races. I had better luck with Redlines and GT's, even if the PK is a cool looking bike. My kid has a old school Redline he rides to school every day. It's been around for at least 20+ years, he has no idea what he's riding. He also has a Dyno that kinda looks like a PK.

You must've had a flawed model. I rode the sh!t out of that PK you see in the picture. I went through a jumping phase and jumped the crap out of it, rode it at the local track for years! Never had a problem at all. It's been one of the best bikes I've ever owned. However, I did snap my 86 santa ana GT at the crank cup weld. I snapped a set of cooks bro's three piece cranks on a 20" hutch too, almost cried!:(
My daughter rides that Jr. Patterson in the pics. She moved up from that newer Redline.
Plaster Dave, what do you want for the JMC? I'm in.
