"Auto" Motor oil does not work as well(foams up) as "motorcycle" motor oil due to a clutch being present in the gearbox.

In Chino?
Sheesh, like you live in the sticks or something. There are 5 dealers within 15 min drive from you.

I don't know about the Raptor in particular, but you may have separate oil in the crancase and gearbox.

well my roomate is a yamaha mechanic....and he said sometimes he has seen yamaha get all picky about the type of oil used. He has actually been told to send a sample off to get tested, to make sure it was actually yamalube....we run nothing but yamalube in out bikes and atvs...though we have easy access to it...

I run Yamalube in my YFZ450. Is readily available and not that expensive.

I really thought it was std oil but I guess I was wrong so yamalube it is.Is the coolant dirrerent?

The reason need motorcycle oil is because regular oil doesnt have the additives for the clutch and doesnt have good shear qualities for the transmission.
On my YFZ450 they recommend the pre-mixed coolant since uses distilled water.

I have always used Yamalube 4R 10-40 but have heard guys using Rotella-D and having very results.

Thats what I am using although may change soon as heard Yamalube is made by CITGO and dont want to support Venezuela.

I have a Rpator and used to work at Pep Boys back in the day. Although I don't use any oil from PB, they do sell ATV oil there. I think Autozone has some too. Valvoline Atv oil, you aren't gonna find it in 5w30, but 10w30 should be alright. I always use the synthetic stuff in my bike, like Torco.

I was thinking about switching to Spectro or Motul.
