Ok... finally..... It's here :D, got a call from Dave late last night to get the update....
The first F-32/ Viper powered boat got dipped in yesterday for the first time. Right out of the box, no tweaking ran 121mph with a 1.35 reduction 33 Maxxis 5 blades at 5600 RPMs, 2 people aboard 1/2 tanks of fuel, and this is a bling boat...Love seat under the dash, big stereo etc....:D ..... pretty awesome # for a 32' cat...on the first test run. The speed number is not the best news to me though..... according to all 4 of the guys on the maiden voyage, the boat planes faster and more level than the 29, handles bigger water and..... ZERO PORPOISE ..... I was on the fence on this new model because it was so much bigger I figured it might not be the homerun the 29 was.... congrats to Dave and all the crew at DCB on the grand slam this time around :D
Look's like a runner to me!

Looks sweet...How much larger is the 32 compared to the 29?

Charley
01-25-2006, 07:04 PM
It's ALOT larger!side by side you would see the difference... full 4" in freeboard and obviously 3 feet longer.... Dave said it handled the bigger water quite a bit better than a 29...catalina ready??? hmmm :D

Those midwest 29's are off the chain and so are their prices....specifically when you can get Charlie's old boat for approximately 160ish pay TOAD 30K to paint it and be into it for less then 200k and have better motors.

AWESOME rig!
I would look into some padding on the edge of the steps though. By the looks of the pics, I could see some BIG bruises on the ole shins from those!
How does the pricing compare to a 29? The extra length would be great on the rough stuff at LOTO, but I can't imagine a much better ride than the 29 already has. I've taken on some water that several 38 foot deep vees wouldn't try! Once you're up to speed, it just hovers above the rough stuff!
I'll take mine with no paint, #6's, and a couple big holes where the BIG motors go... :crossx:

will be interesting to see Daves personal 32, which I heard a rumor that its in the mold right now. should be off the chart. What was impressive to see with #1 32 was the massive amount of carbon fiber used to strengthen the hull. When you pound on the side of the hull, its like a fricking piece of steel!

Lots of boats coming in for the show. Lavey has some nice show pieces. Eliminator has the 33 w/Vipers all wrapped up. Not fond of the graphics on this boat at all. Should be careful what I say, that's my havasu neighbors boat. Hopefully he doesn't read ***boat Forums. :notam:

Well... I was in the booth all day yesterday during setup... pestering everyone who was in the boat that day and by all accounts it's awesome. I saw it up close and personal yesterday and although it is not my style paintwise, it's pretty damned sweet. It is most definitely bigger than the 29 and for all who attend the show, I think you will see the difference for yourselves. The interior is cool, it's slightly longer than a 29 in the cockpit, definitely feels deeper, and up under the bow is the most significant improvement interior-wise... I won't say it's huge but there is lot's of room for storage, kids or whatever ;). The Billet stuff is pretty sweet, but I am anxious to see the "poker run" interior that comes with 5 "very racy" buckets, 5 billet grab handles across the back seats and a very custom hatch with integrated engine scoops. The body styling is much like the 29, but in person has obviously gerthier and lengthier sponsons which makes the front more aggressive looking IMHO. Take a look at the rear of the boat too, the engine hatches alone give you an idea why this boat took so long.....granted I have been waiting much longer than anticipated for my 32 when I saw it yesterday it eased most of that pain away ;) .... Hope you guys get a chance to swing by and say hello to the guys at DCB, thay are a great bunch of guys! Remember if you keep your options reasonable DCB's are CHEAP! :D :D

Charley,
I had a chance to walk around the boat a few times while it was parked in the staging yard. It's incredible. It's got a much bigger feel astatically than the 29. A 33 Eliminator was parked directly across the lot. The 32 seems to have a more east coast look on the sponsons than the 33. I know the 33 has a flatter deck look, but I was surprised to see the sponson difference in the two. Looks like the 32 can handle much more than Havasu water can dish out. I think this boat may be a big seller in some of the big water northern lakes. Can't wait to see the numbers this will kick out with some Merc 1075's or TCM 1000's. Should be fun to watch some of these BIG dollar guys like you build a few of these boats.:D

Man, that is a sweet ass boat....IMO the best at the show hands down. I tried a little hagling with Dave and in the end I couldnt put the numbers together...I guess I shouldnt have bought a new sandrail and trailer this year...dammit. Anyhow I'll give it up and give my award to best in show to the 32...but this is only my opinion.

The new 32 had some really nice details, and rigging features. I don't know what is standard, and what was upgrades, but is was very nice.

I like the 32'. Nice looking boat, good lines, nice interior layout. Over all very nice boat. I really like the deck on it, different. I think I really like the simplicity of the east coast boats though. I would do a 32 DCB if it could run the ocean as good as a east coast boat, hold up to the beating like a east coast boat and be built simple like a east coast boat. I don't plan on having a river only boat again, if I did I would look real hard at the 32' and as it gets run in the ocean more I may really consider it next time around. I liked the boat a lot. 650's ish and arnesons, no under deck and five seats. Alum. trailer with no bling and a big ass F32 logo on the deck, that would be the perfect one for me.
On a side note it was cool talking with Dave he walked right up and shook my hand, nice since I don't own one of his boats anymore. It was cool to that he was as busy as he was but still took the time to chat about boats and other relative stuff.. I will say sitting in that boat with the shifters and throttles set up the way they are is very comfortable for me, that boat fit me very well.................. I think like Deano I spent to much money this year on other stuff......... :rollside:
The Daytonas didn't look to bad either, rigging to me is relative now. I see a lot of boats and I know any boat can rigged well. Buy any boat and take it to GT it will look like what ever you want it to look like. Now it boils down the person you are doing busness with and the lines of the boat. I don't really care for the line on the Daytona line up. Nice boats just not for me.
It was also cool to see John West from Ultra as well, another busy guy but took the time to chat for a bit. Always nice to see him and Leah.

Sounds like a deal, must be your boat... :)
I was going off the base price then figuring the V-10 upgrade at 80k according to the current HB mag on the 29 test. That puts you at over 300k without any other options. I know some have said that the #'s in HB are high, but they were right on the $$$ when they tested my boat.

Be honest Charley! A "normal" customer could not get the F-32 with Illmors for $275k. I'd assume that's your price given the boat show work you did for him and limited options.
I talked to Carlos briefly about the pricing. That F-32 at the show WOULD NOT sell for $275k...Actually, nowhere eveb close to that.

Good post Andy, I totally agree. Function versus looks. I want a boat to look nice but function and performance are number 1 to me. Ocean boating is a whole different world and my east coast boats have been rigged to handle the beating. My Cig was rigged like a tank and nothing ever came loose because of it. I snapped off a couple of bilge pumps on a rough day in the salt, but the rigging remained intact. Not to say that the west coast boats can't handle the ocean, but I would check the rigging after every trip.

You won't see any Skaters at the Miami show either. Peter told me, that people don't go to a boat show to discover a Skater. People who buy Skaters already know about them. I guess there could always be a dealer that shows up with one though.
