Nope, they sell for the same price everywhere. I get a discount but I am only allowed to buy one a year (thru Disney). And I will be in the market this year.
The new Mac Books and Mac Pro's are really nice!

Have your kids purchase thru educational pricing or I am not sure but UCSD used to sell online and you could save anywhere from 15 - 20 %.

The best prices are for refurbished units. You go to Apple.com, find products, and on the left side scroll down to refurbished macs. You can save several hundreds that way. 15" core 2 - $1600, 17" - $2300.

They do sell online, looks like it was only about 7% off of full pop

There is always a new processor, new system, or more pazzaz. I just upgrade from a G3 imac to an intel imac. My old G3 did everything I needed and was working great, but after 5 years, I was ready for an update. I already have my old G3 sold.

February will see new Ops, new desktop monitors with built in iSight and (very likely, but not confirmed) new widescreen iPod with touch panel controls. Gotta keep up with the Zune (which blows)

ZUNE from Microsoft. Their (bad) answer to the iPod.
For more info on the upcoming MacWorld and what new items we will see in Feb, try www.macrumors.com
iPhone might show up as well, as Apple has been developing it for over a year now and owns several patents on the technology they will be using.

Almost anyone can get the Teachers 10% discount on Macs. We bought a 17-inch MacBook Pro a few months back. The sales guy told us to bring in a business card that shows you teach somewhere, literally ANYWHERE, including home-schooling your own kids. Just make up your own business card and take it in with you. They do not check any of it and it also get you a huge discount on all software.
