Compared to other bank rates, yes. Compared to what you earn in interest, minus the taxes on it, and considering inflation, no. ;)

Very true...^ I did a 3 month CD w/Wachovia back in August $100K @ 5.50. Taxes will kill it, live and learn I guess.
:idea: There's something you can get into with the Goverment (safe, secure, monthly or as long as you want)...almost 6% and you only pay one tax not both. Federal or State, gotta do more research.
My father's been in them for sometime now, just found this out.
It's amazing how you're never to old to learn from a parent.
