I hated the smell following a diesel ,so I bought a diesel to give some back :D .
Same with the HID lights . All the bimmers and mercedes' have them . My 03
Navi has them , if you can't beat them , join them  :D

That's my thought.
That and I can't see at night. I figure I'll go with the 8000 kit.

Check out www.hidplanet.com . They have a pretty good message board you can follow for some pointers.
I retrofitted my MBZ lights to E55 projectors/Denso Ballasts and Phillips 6K bulbs. While that's a relatively mild retro, it still lokks bad ass. Nice color and beams adjusted properly.
Nothing worse than being blinded by some improperly installed HID lights. Some people mistake glare for brightness.
It was a fun mod, good luck on it :)

the best way to get your headlight to point you in the right direction is to put ice on them :)

Here's what I'm going with....my truck is old so these are within my budget.
Still will be around 3 1/2 bills with the HID kit and my company discount.
Use the aqua blue bulbs.
These are a brand new product.
Just call them up.

Just make sure that the Ballast and Ignitors are in a single unit. I have had bad luck with kits that use a seperate ballast and ignitor!!!!!!
The temperature will determine the color. 4700K is oem temp. 5000-6500K is blue, 6700-7000K is premier hite with a hint of blue, 7500-up is violet or plum. The higher the temp = more color/less. The lower the temp is less color and more light.
************Stay away from kits that use a seperate relay and the ones that have tinted bulbs************** Everything is done with the box and bulb!!
If anyone has any question feel free to ask away or pm me. I have done numerous kits.

This is the style of ballast that you want to use. TIf you look at a OEM ballast it will be similar and have the ignitor included!!!

Just so you know... not all states let you swap out headlights... CA is one of them...most of the lights out there if you read the fine print it says: "for off road use only"

Lou, try going in for an upgrade on you glasses Rx. I put 1M candlepower on my front bumper then got glasses and didn't need the lights.....

To those that like their obnoxious lights, that 1 finger salute I give you as you go by me is not a message about you being number one. Although it could be considering you are way up there on the total asshole list.....MP

I get pleasure when a jerky driver has to stop in front of me by aiming the left headlamp in his side mirror..........
I've often turned off my lights when behind someone for simple curtiousy, seen a few waves of appreciation too.

Great tips! I'll have to make sure I'm getting the right set up.
I have a guy in the bizz setting me up. I'll check his info with yours.

If you use a quality Xenon bulb, like the Phillips ($100/2 bulbs), 6K is more than enough color. In fact, driving with them is kind of weird - they light up street signs and road stripes differently, and driving in the rain can be a challenge.
4300K puts out the most light, but unless you have high quality projectors, not mucg color comes thru (which is why I use 6K bulbs on the older E55/Bosch projectors).
Something else to consider is your highbeams.
I opted for the Bi-Xenon, which has a solenoid that raises the shield over the projector lens to completely open, allowing full light to pass thru. Otherwise, in projectors lenses, there is a fixed shield which gives you the cutoff beam pattern you should see on a wall, like below:
..................._______________
___________/
It looks like those lights have a standard highbeam plug for a Halogen H7 light, which will be used as your highbeam (yes, using Xenon and Halogen at the same time). Using an authentic Silverstar H7 bulb will almost match 4300-6K.
I know a guy who runs "overdriven" Denso ballasts and RS6 projectors in his E320. The overdriven ballast put out up to 70 watts, instead of the normal 35 watts. That's twice as bright, which could realistically do some eye damage or cause accidents if he opened up his brights.
That's a great price on the kit.
My OEM retro was $150 Bi-Xenon projectors, $160 for the Denso (Lexus) ballasts, $300 for the headlight housings (which had to be gutted and retrofitted), and $100 for the wto 6K Phillips bulbs. It took about 20 hours to do the retro/align the projectors/adjust beam pattern.
Like I said before, it was a fun project.
I also learned the hard way - make sure your ignitor cap is fully seated on the Xenon bulb. Otherwise, it will be arc city and smoke your ballast cap.
I hear if you stick your finger in the ignitor cap and give it juice - it's kind of like doing the battery thing on your tongue

One of my favorite sites. IMO a retro fit is really the only way to run HID in a vehichle not so equipt from the factory. The ebay HID projectors may be bright, and are probaly a ton better than the plug and play HID systems, but a true quality projector properly installed produces amazing results.
I also recommend you check out HIDplanet.

Ok here's the before and after pics.
I changed my orginal choice of headlamps due to availability.
I went with the O-NEX HID System.
With the 8000k bulbs. Which are more than enough!

Here's the comparison.
The old lamps on top with the new diamond cut buckets below.
As seen the comparison is amazing. Also I went with conventional bulbs for the brights. 7500k on those.

Here's the night time spray of light.
The diamond cut buckets create an awesome spray pattern.
