As some of you may know IÂ’ve been trying to sell my boat since last year. I have a solid offer of 70,000.00 right now. If I sell it I will have to go boat-less this year because the new boat I want is not possible at this time. The boat is owned free and clear so it costs me nothing to keep it except for the cost of using it. And as we all know that alone can be a hell of a lot of moneyÂ…
My question to all of you is, would you dump it now or keep it another year and hope the market doesnÂ’t get worse than it already is. The thought of going boat-less for a year sucks, but the thought of not having to clean and maintain it this next summer sounds good. For those of you who donÂ’t know the boat here is a linkÂ…. And no, itÂ’s not spam.

All opinions welcomeÂ…Â….even the smart azz ones.

If you go out on it once a month it shouldn't be too painful to be without it. Perhaps you can ride with some friends. But if you're out every weekend I would imagine it would blow big time to sell it. Your boat is still new enough to where another year can still get you a similar deal. Good luck.

Sell it.... For sure. If you intend to sell it and you have a buyer it is a whole hell of a lot cheaper than driving it all summer and MAYBE having mechanical problems. Besides if you need to ride on a Kachina I'm sure we can make room for ya.

since the boat is for sale and you got a pretty solid offer, i would let it go. buying a new boat is always easier then trying to sell a used one. good luck and i hope it all works out for you :)

If the boat you want isnt going to be available for a year or so, and this boat is paid for, I would keep it.
The excuse of not having to clean it and maintain it if you use it is weak.
It may take a while, the boat market will recover.

Sell it.
The words "wait for the market to turn" comes to mind and your wait could turn into a nightmare.
Judging from your avitar, it doesn't look like that boat was the best thing that happened to you anyway;)

Boats are like girl friends they come and go and if you miss it you can always rent oneÂ… A boat that is. Dump it and donÂ’t look back!

Seriously though, I would sell it if you have a buyer, and you can still hitch a ride.

Is the boat paid in full by a HELOC ? If so sell the boat and payoff the HELOC.
I would sell it, only 7K less then what you have been asking for more then 12 months.
We sold our Cobra, a month ago, got 2K under our asking price and was on the market for about 40 days.

Is the boat paid in full by a HELOC ?
Hell no, I told myself 20 years ago that I would never take the equity from my home to buy a toy.
Thanks for your input everyone.
Ratso, I like your stripper idea the best.:)
