I dont think there is any way that it's an 85. To my knowledge in the 80s, the 5 rib deck was replaced with the updated two notch deck like this one......

No kidding. You can't argue with original gel and never been drilled.

 New Hydro hulls or hulls that have never been rigged are going for $10,000.00 or more depending on the layup & brand of hull... Sounds like a killer deal at $7,000.00 if it were rigged by someone with the right setup for the boat.....

Weird. I have heard it all then. I have had some people who say they steer clear of the 5 ribs as they supposedly are kind of a “first generation” hull design, and the second design was supposed to be the sought after one. Mind you, just what I have heard. Not making any statements. Oh well, they all work.

Wayne, your name "dossangers" expires in two weeks if you do not honor it's logic by purchasing an additional sanger.

Since I recently purchased a 1978 5 rib fully rigged, I don't see how I could swing this new(?) one. She is really sweet looking. Could use her as a backup, or just keep her in the garage to stare at.
If there are any issues with these hulls, I'd like to know as I intend to race mine with a blown alcohol motor.

Steve Hess and many others drove them to 190 and then complained something about the steering box was causing handling problems. But nobody bitched till 190.
