Maybe because the polar caps are melting due to the warming and so now the weather fronts are bringing in the colder air from the colder ocean. Doesn't global warming make for hotter summers and colder winters?
But yeah it's cold.

I'd blame factories pluming smoke causing a bit of problem ,especially during the industrial revolution . Seen an article on a honda producing cleaner air coming out of the exhaust pipe compared to the air went in the intake , during a Tokyo autoshow.
Didn't have many cars causing freeze at this era :idea:
