Just curious who doin some modifications to step up their program. I know of quite a few people who have made some big changes. Should be a great summer.
I just put my boat on a diet instead of myself, should be a good summer.
Lets hear it,what are you doin to sharpen your saw?

Yes it's true. I am stepping up to alchohol. I just couldn't work on this damn thing sober anymore, so I've put a fridge full of beer in the garage. :D

I'm game ... trying to build something ... but with all of the money I've been spending lately, I might as well get a paddle and hang with Mike ...

Just show up at the river this summer and you'll be going faster than last summer when your boat sat on the trailer while you were were out playing. :)

Let's see...what have I done...
removed interior, replaced with buckets
moved seats back 4"
added steering extension
set back pump 5"
lowered intake 1 1/4"
moved motor forward 4"
switched to stainless B/C + inducer
added jetaway
new rail kit and rear motor plate
bottom re-work
added about 180hp
lightened everything by about 150#.
I'm thinking that oughta make a difference. :D

Yeah, no shit. LOL The good thing is I have 4 days a week off, which is plenty of time to hit the river. :) It just depends what shift I get stuck with and what days of the week I have off. I'll either be there on the weekends with the rest of you abnormal folks or I'll have to find some new boating friends that can go during the week. Either way I'll be there. :D :D

The new Diamond tooth chain should do wonders in the new .030 over 429ci BBF. We are expecting some good solid #s from that new powerplant.

Well I started by ditching the fold-out couch interior, sawed off my headers & now have water injected ghetto zoomies, drilled some holes in the deck to lighten up the hull, and I am currently busting out the gas tanks so I can run one of thoes 2 gallon outboard motor plastic tanks with one of thoes cool pressure regulating primer squeezy ball thingys on the 1/4" gas line. Things gonna haul azz come spring! :crossx:
Throw out the keg??? Uhhh No!

Gonna be a hot time in the midwes this summer. Lowrider is:
Upside down getting the old hull scarring repaired, intake blended, & re-gelled,
Carpeting replaced after 28 years,
2 of the 3 cross-frames replaced and ALL glassed down better then original,
The stereo refined to 4 speakers,
28 year old head bolts & main bolts replaced with studs,
Lightning headers replacing the dying orriginal logs,
4" outlets replacing the 2 7/16" cast "trumpets",
100-150HP NOS Sniper system replacing the Marvin Miller 75HP sys from 1979,
MSD Marine Ready-to-run distributor replaces the orriginal Prestilite points
Pump rebuild & new Agressor bronze "B" from DuaneHTP.
All gauging going digital from Summit (oil, temp, volts, fuel level, tach, thinking of GPS speedo replacing the old one).
new no-moving parts fuel level sender.

After three years on the same motor i think ill go for four.Although some valve springs and lifters are in order.Maybe even slide some new bearings in it too.Or not.

I stripped and painted the trailer and replaced the bunks. I think the friction loss on the new paint should have a gain of at least 2-5 MPH on the freeway :)
Pump is apart and will be adding inducer, impeller, ride plate (real one this time) and set back the pump and motor a few inches. Hopefully will pick up some performance.

Yea, this one is a big year, lotsa overtime available at work.
First winter was new interior and an IMRON job to the deck to make her look original. $3200
2nd winter was an engine rebuild, rod bolts replaced w/ARP, intake manifold, and cam from DuaneHTP, tiny budget, no overtime. $1800
She's generally turnkey over the summer, other than loosing the fuel pump in 2001 and the coil in 2003, both from 1978.
Only thing left for next year will be head porting, stage 1 with larger valves.
