Lake George, NY Ice Status

No ice on LG yet as of Jan 17th. Not even in the village. Very cold today tho.

Oh, and I even got to see my wild beaver a few weeks ago. But no....I didnt pet the beaver.
No ice on Canandaigua lake though. May not happen this winter.
I did hear the fishermen are ripping up the perch. Good fishin right now.

I didn't say the pond doesn't have snow. You mentioned ice, I responded with ice. Had you said ice and snow, I would have told you about the snow on top of the ice on the pond. :devil:

Still no ice this AM, Jan 18th. 8 degrees tho. Should freeze soon if these temps hold.

I spent a lot of time in Lake George as a kid..........I want to take the boat up there one day. :cool:

Ice in the village, froze yesterday and overnight. Jan 22-23. Main lake still open I presume. Cold stretch in hand, to continue.

LG is rough as well, one wave and you're down in a drag/open deck boat. Don't see them much on LG, last one I saw was in 1978.

Very frozen now, people, ice shanties, ATVs all over the place. Very, very cold lately.

Now at the other end of the season, ice still in, lots of ice out there still, locked in. Gone by March 28 last year. Normal is mid April. Snow Thursday! Still very cold. 22 this morning. Still a week or two to go until open water.

What a difference a week makes. Ice gone to the north, village still packed in.
