Made a quick run out to Scottsdale Wednesday for the auction. A long haul for a 24 hour turn around but I've always wanted to attend. All the good stuff goes up on the block on Friday but everything's on display, with the best cars inside and the rest under four huge tents on the outside. The vendor's rows seemed endless and the supply of $3 bottled water was endless! Looked like lots of good food too, although I didn't partake. If you're going from Cali, don't forget the 1 hour time change... Thought I was just in time for the Scott Speed autograph session but I missed it. :(
Here's a few cars that caught my eye:
The new Challenger rollin' the odometer a 1/4 mile at a time

Mopar was well represented

V-10 Packard, a matching numbered unrestored survivor! ;)

Northstar's aren't just for dune buggies ya know...

How much does it cost to attend (non bidder)?

Depends on the day. I know this Sat it $50 and Sunday its $25. Reg admission. You can advance buy tickets on their website. I did that yesterday.
I thought Saturday was the heavy hitter day?
From what I have seen on tv thus far prices are down a bit? Crazy overpriced stuff anyway.

The ride home went pretty fast.

what off ramp in Scottsdale? Or are there signs everywhere?
Their web page has been down for two days. It just amazes me that they can let that happen.
They never emailed me confirmation on the tickets either.

From the 10, take 202 east, then 101 north, exit right on Raintree #43 and follow the signs. Valet is $20.00, worth it to me.

Perfect. I will take your advice and valet.
So the real truth...How long to get home at those speeds? Fun.
I used to have a Saleen Mustang and one late night we made it from Ludlow to Needles in a fat hour. Cruised at 110/120 with bursts to 140 which was as fast as it would go. I have not driven that fast sense and that was 15 years ago.

Nuthin better than midnight runs! We do it all the time in our T/A, (well summer time runs anyways) used to do it in the GTP.. pretty cool watchin the HUD rack MPH at night!
