I thought some of the coal trains in this country were longer than that... I remember some of the engineers and conductors I talked to in New Mexico talking about running 10000 foot coal trains... which would be longer the 3 kilometers.
Kowchina26 would be another one to ask...

I'd hate to have to piss during the trip:D ....worse yet, riding behind someone who did.

Kowchina26 would be another one to ask...I don't know about length, but I do know we run 'em as heavy as 13,000 tons, coal trains that is. BTW, I'm kjunka26, Don is the Kowchina man.

Sorry, my mistake... :D
Maybe that's what it was... tons not feet. I would just get BSing with them at the Cafe in the evening... a few of them almost had me convinced to go to work there (the railroad, not the cafe).

I love the job, woulda sucked had I hired out 6 months later as those fellas got furloughed. Most fun I've ever had and got paid for. Most times that is. Kinda sucks sitting on your ass for hours not moving, still get paid, but sitting still. Also blows waiting for the phone to ring, which is what I'm doing now. Heck, that's what I've been doing for the last 37 hours.

"There are 3 or 4 diesel-electric General Motors 3300V locomotives at the head of the train and about 200 cars each carrying up to 84 tons of iron ore, and a variable number of service cars. The total traffic averages 16.6 billion tons per year."
Take notice that Toyota was not mentioned!:hammer2:
