What a JOKE!!!! that thing is a sprocket driven 2 seater, huge bs, someone is gettin ripped if they buy that piece, for $100,000 you could have a BADASS full blown desert car.

No way is their anywhere near $100K in that ride, unless the owner was a rube.
$100K gets you the supreme state-of-the-art LT dune machine with change back.

That thing is LAME. Whoever spent 100K building that thing is a SUCKER.
I just saw a Jamie Cambel built Truggy with a LSI motor for 150K. Thats a deal

It is deeply troubling to find that someone would fudge the facts when a vehicle is in such a prestigous auction, ain't it? :D

maybe he has $75,000 cash or bags of cocaine stuffed into the tires.

Looks like a Jet Ski motor,, and yeah,, perhaps a 2 stroke.

Right motor it would go for 30k. But not with that 1500cc two stroke.

Who knows how much he has into it?
4 speed tranny? (Mendy or Albtins(sp))
Some people have lots of $$ and do different things. that motor sounds exotic and probably cost a butt load.
I still don't think the car is worth over 35-40K in the current market.

I agree with you. It is exotic and it was built in 2001...so I think it is realistic (not smart) that he has $100K + into that thing.
Maintenance on a 325HP 1500 cc has got to be steep as well. I had a 250 HP 1500cc honda motor in a skat trak 2 seater rail that was a maintenance nightmare. It broke nearly every trip - thats what happens when you run 30 lbs of boost!

thing would be cool if it had a turbo busa motor

1. $40,000 in buggy parts
2. $50,000 spent building the work shop to build it in
3. $10,000 in tools to build both:eek: :D

yeah...your 20K 150cc motor goes boom and your screwed because there is no over the counter parts for a fix.
Rail looks good but I would rather have a Busa powered rail if I was building something light.

That's why you really have to know what you're buying before you bid. Did you catch the '27 T-bucket that claimed to have 750HP? A 350 with a 4-71 blower, huge upper pulley and a pair of Carters making 750HP? Pegged my BS meter! Nice 'bucket though.

Exactly, If I can order new from Tatum turnkey for $32K where did the other $68K come from? Same place purple monekys fly out of....:D

I saw a tatum go for 175k at the sand sport show. WHY anyone would spend that to play in the sand is beyond me. Who the **** needs heated leather seats. Sure you will take it if someone gives it to you but come on.
That thing is worth probably 30k

Thats a modified polaris snowmobile engine and if he has $100,000 into it he was definately smoking something

I was out in Lucerne Valley and Penhall Racing had a brand new 4 seater desert car that retailed for $170K. They were doing 120 mph runs while drinking a hot cup of coffee. You could buy the stripped down model for $130K. :D

The pix of the buggy were taken at a Superformance dealer up in Washington. Last time I was up there I stopped in to see the Cobras so I recognise the place... $100,000??? Looks like no one was willing to pay what he wanted in the middle of high dollar Microsoft town so he dragged it all the way down to AZ. At least he's been targeting the right demo...

You are missing somthing.... Its fricken Barrett Jackson. 95% of the stuff there is WAY OVERPRICED.
I have been to Barrett at least 6 times. I went with my old boss a few times to sell some of his cars. After we left, he told me he couldn't believe how much he got for them. He said he would have got less than half if he would have sold them on his own.
Just last yr that place in AZ that builds the Elinores. I think it is called Unique Performance. They got somwhere around 500k for one of their crappy looking replica GT500 Elinore things. WTF?

$100K buggy just went for $29,700 + 16% tax and auction fee or about 2K more than a new one from Tatum :hammer2:

The same reason people spend 175k to play in the water.:hammer2:

Just got home. Stayed until the close. Our 2nd car was the 2nd to last to go. Most the place was gone by then. The weather was major phucked. It sleeted for almost a freaking hour. Chased a few folks away thats for sure.
Was there today (actually yesterday now) when it ran through. Loud as hell. I have a few pics of the thing I will post later today.
No way he had 100k in it but it sold for $27K or near there I believe.
3 cyl 2 stroke, fairly nice. Headache LOUD!.

yeah well I guess I don't understand that either. Difference between the sand and water though. Been doing both my whole life, and I wouldn't own a 175k buggy. I would however buy a SU car for 50-60K. Wouldn't have touchscreen nav and heated leather seats though. I know how to get around in glamis thanks.
